You shouldn't identity yourself based on groups. You are an individual, wholly unique and not meant to be bound by the opinions of others merely for belonging.

If the concern was that AI would literally kill us sure. But that's never been the realistic doom state. The realistic doom is much simpler; dependance forming. I don't know which is worse. The companies investing in it for the hope of infinite tailor made digital circus to pacify the masses or the companies investing in it fully intent on giving people a tool to supplant cognitive effort and critical thinking. The former is idiotic because hedonic adaption makes it just another stop gap that will wear thin. The later is idiotic because it will destroy the very nature of humanity and the human mind. AI won't kill us. It will take care of us, long after we no longer have the skills to create AI.

That's really sad.... So to be clear, you exert no skill of your own nor any actual excersize of intellect. You have fully and completely offloaded all thinking to probability based algorithms.

5 years ago today I went into orbit and life has never been the same! I’m so grateful I was chosen to be part of Inspiration4, the world’s first all-civilian orbital mission. And I’m most proud of the fact that our mission raised $250 million for childhood cancer research and treatment, a cause personal to me as I am a childhood cancer survivor. Will forever use my platform to spread my message of hope, that what you’ve been through doesn’t have to limit where you go

Decreased child birth is the symptom, not the cause. It's a total land of meaningful struggle. People turn to imaginary and self inflicted struggle. They turn inwards and they destroy themselves. It's happened again and again. It's Universe 25 but on the scale of a much more complicated social animal. Luxury, opulence, and abundance breed reduction in environmental selection pressure for basic survival traits. This in turn creates a society incapable of surviving. It slowly turns in on itself and is its own destruction. That creates the scenario for selection pressure to again favor strong survival traits and strong psychology, which eventually creates abundance and luxury all over again.

I want to add that, the generations after us will have Ash too. That's the thing about a great performance and a piece of timeless media, it outlasts us all.

You know what, potentially unpopular opinion time. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. I tried three times to read that and couldn't get past the start. None of the characters make you care for them or root for them. The movie? it's called Bladerunner

The worst thing to me about all this gender nonsense, as a child of the 90s, is that it's literally just internalize the stereotypes we spent decades trying to get rid of. Stereotypes they wouldn't try to force on others but WANT to force on themselves. The only thing that's changes is instead of "you can't do that, it's boy stuff and you're a girl" it's now "you can do that, but it means you're not a girl anymore" I'm sorry that's fucking stupid. Decades of tearing down gender stereotypes and proving individuals are individuals and can do whatever they want regardless of how others see it and it's been replaced by choose which gender role fits you best and mutilate your body to match it.

On January 15, 2025, Falcon 9 successfully deployed Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost Mission 1 and ispace’s RESILIENCE lunar landers on a trajectory to the Moon from pad 39A in Florida. For most of our missions, we plan a controlled deorbit of the Falcon second stage so it safely reenters over the ocean. For higher energy missions like those to a lunar transfer orbit, nearly all performance on the vehicle is devoted to successfully placing the payload in the intended orbit, and a controlled disposal maneuver is not always possible. We actively work to be as responsible as possible with hardware left in space to ensure space safety, including for more complex missions. In this case, over time, solar activity and gravity led the second stage toward the Moon. Impacts like this are rare, but they can happen with objects in these types of orbits, and we worked with NASA on the optimal disposal solution. Our focus remains on advancing reliable access to space while working toward even more sustainable operations with Starship in the future. As a fully reusable vehicle, Starship is designed to eliminate expendable upper stages entirely, reducing hardware left in orbit and enabling even more missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

This is trippy… Starship in space with my favourite classical music piece. 🤩 This is a stitched video from four different cameras, it seems. Filmed by the Starlink v3 satellites as they drifted away. SpaceX moments…

Ames dropped some wind tunnel test model photos of the upgraded superheavy. Just sharing because I find it interesting how the aft has a rather low level of detail for this scale

this is not SLOW by any metric. The closest comparable vehicle is the Space Shuttle. Development started in 1968 and wasn't operational before 1981 with full development kicking in around 1972. The Space Shuttle however was only a _partially_ reusable orbital vehicle. It only had a payload capacity of 60 tons (a little more than half current Starship capacity) and the refurbishment of the reusable portion took 2-3 months after each flight. We're at 7 years of full development vs. the Shuttle's 9 years. Starship can already carry more to orbit and while not the current version has reflown the core stage already. I do not think you understand the sheer complexity of space travel nor the engineering required. This is blisteringly fast by typical space development speed. You're literally just seeing more of the process than normal and seeing it in real time where with most organizations you only find out about something when its nearly complete.

Unfortunate to me that it is Apple. Apple today doesn't make products, they make status symbols. Functionality is second to saying it's an Apple. The ONLY way I'd tough an Apple product now is if they came out tomorrow and said "Hey, timed to the release of the show here's a real onosendai." Even then I'd probably wait a year to see if anyone else produced a better cheaper one.
