In 2023, hunters from the Avon Vale Hunt were exposed, ruthlessly digging two terrified foxes out of an artificial hole just to let their hounds chase and kill them.

Speeding driver stopped by #VanguardRST in Staines, provided a positive #DrugWipe for cannabis, so arrested & bloods taken.
4 days later, #VanguardRST stopped the same driver in Walton, they admitted smoking between stops, & again provided a positive #DrugWipe so again arrested.
My brother (cyclist) is a Driving Instructor, It would improve driving standard if all instructors had to cycle busy roads to pass their own DI tests. He positively drums into his pupils the vulnerability of pedestrians & cyclists from own experience.

Driver of this HGV seen using his mobile phone whilst driving on M25. He was so distracted he didn't notice #VanguardRST's blue lights & sirens behind him. Officers then pulled in front & brought the vehicle to a stop. Driver issued a TOR & traffic commissioner notified.

Most countries did not have the foresight to build cycle paths and safe streets in the 70s. The best time to start would have been then - but the second best time to start is now.
And the good news? The Dutch have experimented and shown what works to make streets safer.
