Regarding urinary function in EPIC-26:
5-year results: 14/29 (48%) in the RP arm vs. 3/36 (8%) in the SBRT arm.
But don't let the number fool you into overlooking the nature of how they reported it.
The authors chose a single question about the number of pads needed per day to give impression .
Other urinary questions in EPIC-26 were reported, but only as secondary endpoints.
If the results were reported in full, the picture would be different:
RP is worse for urinary incontinence, while SBRT is worse for obstructive symptoms.
But overall, the degree of urinary bother between the two arms shows no statistically significant difference.

Metastases-directed treatment in Patients with Oligometastatic Breast Cancer: Results from the OLIGOMA-trial (ARO-2021-09, NCT04495309)
Presented by David Krug 🇩🇪
#RadOnc ☢️
The OLIGOMA-trial is a randomized controlled trial studying the role of local ablative radiotherapy in patients with oligometastatic breast cancer (≤ 5 lesions) receiving standard systemic therapy. 87 patients were enrolled at 31 sites in Germany and Austria, the study was closed early due to slow accrual. Both co-primary endpoints were positive: Progression-free survival was significantly improved (HR 0.48) while maintaining non-inferiority for quality of life 12 weeks after randomization.

Optimizing oligometastatic disease management with circulating tumor DNA: a correlative analysis from the phase II randomized EXTEND trial Presented by Alexander Sherry 🇺🇸
#RadOnc ☢️
The current definition of oligometastasis entails lesion counting. We hypothesized that circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) would improve stratification and predict responses to metastasis-directed therapy (MDT). We profiled ctDNA among 237 patients enrolled on the EXTEND trial. We found ctDNA was strongly associated with multiple clinical outcomes, as well as ctDNA clearance following enrollment. These data suggest that ctDNA holds strong promise for transforming the management of patients with oligometastatic cancers.
