Lewis Hall: When does a rumour become a plain lie? ๐Ÿคฅ๐Ÿ“ฐ โ€‹Scrolling through the BBC Sport website this morning on my break, I was staggered to see that they're back to reporting on Manchester United looking at Lewis Hall. ๐Ÿ˜ณ It genuinely made me blink involuntarily a little bit, like I might be seeing things! ๐Ÿ‘€โ“ โ€‹The story read that the Manchester side "will revisit a deal for Newcastle and England left back Lewis Hall, who is keen to move to Old Trafford". โ€‹So, quite a lot to unpick in so few words there... ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘€ โ€‹1. What "Deal"?! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’ญ โ€‹Firstly, I'd ask what deal? I didn't realise that there was a deal in the first place! ๐Ÿคจ I'm aware that as a mere fan I have no special insight into the goings-on inside St. James' Park ๐ŸŸ๏ธ, but I cannot recall a 'deal' ever being on the table. โ€‹I remember that the mediaโ€”especially a certain Manchester United podcast ๐ŸŽ™๏ธโ€”were practically salivating ๐Ÿคค all last summer about them trying to get Hall, but nothing about an actual "deal" Almost like it could just be a figment of someone's imagination... ๐Ÿง™โ€โ™‚๏ธโœจ โ€‹2. "Keen to Move"? Give Over! ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธโŒ โ€‹Hall clearly isn't "keen on a move to Old Trafford". In fact, he's explicitly said signing his contract was "an extremely proud moment" โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿค and stated that staying at Newcastle was a "no brainer", adding that it was "an absolute pleasure" to play for Newcastle. โšฝ๐Ÿ”ฅ โ€‹His family links to the club are well known ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ, and every single performance seems not only to enhance his reputation ๐Ÿ“ˆ, but cement his place as a hugely important player for us. ๐Ÿงฑโญ โ€‹โ€‹I'm absolutely sick of seeing these ridiculous links; even more so when it feels like common knowledge that Manchester United wouldn't be willing to pay anywhere near what we'd ask! ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿšซ โ€‹Just give it a rest, man! ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ›‘ #NUFC #NUFCNews #Newcastle #EPL #ManUtd

Five years ago today, celebrating the Newcastle United takeover with a Black Velvet, following the case I worked on against the Premier League. One of my longest and often most challenging sports law cases, but also one of the most enjoyable and memorable. #Newcastle #NUFC #sportslaw #sportslawyer

City are being punished for being financially stable and having enough cash flow to run their club, so if we are punishing city for breaking FFP because their owners are pumping money to ensure the club runs smoothly, why is it okay for the Glazers to leverage our club in over ยฃ1.1b in debt? Why is the Premier league saying nothing or doing nothing about this?

In 2023, Gary Neville admitted that the โ€œEstablishment Eliteโ€ ie, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool pushed through the FFP rules because they donโ€™t like the idea of clubs like Blackburn, Chelsea and Manchester City pumping money into football and challenging them. Gary also admitted "The whole FFP thing needs challenging!" Gary appears to have gone quiet on this subject now this s**** hit the fan at Manchester City.

So if City's owners had borrowed massively and just loaded the club with debt, over the period in question, the club would still have had all their success, but would not have these charges hanging over them. Just take a moment to think about that one. It's bizarre.

Plain and simple ๐Ÿ‘
Most club fans just want a fair Premier League where clubs are not forced to constantly sell their best players and home grown academy players on the cheap to a small group of certain other clubs

๐Ÿšจ ๐๐„๐–: Emirati officials have warned the UK government that the severity of ruling on Man City could undermine their appetite for future grand-scale UK commitments, and consider the Premier Leagueโ€™s actions to have an influence on the bilateral state relationship. UK government officials are equally frustrated by the conduct of UAE counterparts and believe some in the Gulf nation must have been aware of the extent of Man City's wrongdoing, even while insisting there was nothing untoward. Arsenal employed a rapist for years, their manager openly backed him, fans didn't budge. Where was the outrage? Chelsea admitted to breaching 74 charges, including illegal payments to players, agents, third parties. Where was the outrage? United have accumulated over 1bn debt, continue to borrow more and more. Where was the outrage? Liverpool admitted to hacking into a team's scouting system and continued having a front-of-shirt sponsor accused of terrorist financing. Where was the outrage? City's owners put their own money in their business? Outrage.

Getting a lot of Manchester United fans in the mentions today lecturing about money, so here's a quick history lesson. Albert Quixall 1958, British record. Denis Law 1962, British record. Gordon McQueen 1978, British record. Bryan Robson 1981, British record, two years after the first ever ยฃ1m transfer in this country. Pallister 1989, record fee for a defender. Keane 1993, British record. Andy Cole 1995, British record, bought off US in January to stop us winning the league. Van Nistelrooy AND Veron in 2001, two British records in one year. Ferdinand 2002, world record for a defender. Di Maria 2014, British record. Pogba 2016, world record on the entire planet. Maguire 2019, world record for a defender AGAIN. For sixty years, when United wanted a player, the price went up for everyone else. They've broken the British transfer record more than any club in history. Since Ferguson left: ยฃ1.43 BILLION spent. Zero titles. Net debt over a billion dollars, and their owners' takeover model has since been banned by the Premier League for loading debt onto clubs. Lads, Man city have broke the rules, but lets not pretend you're not the moral guardians of football finance. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿค #NUFC #MUFC

Newcastle fans, youโ€™re not spectators in this argument. Youโ€™re literally Exhibit A. You have one of the richest ownership groups in football and youโ€™ve ended up selling Isak to Liverpool, Gordon to Barcelona and Bruno to Arsenal. How exactly are you supposed to catch the clubs you keep selling your best players to?

In my opinion Evertonians should NOT fall into the trap of saying City should get a massive points deduction A points deduction was NOT on the table when clubs voted for PSR The points deduction was concocted by Masters and the corrupt clubs to get @Everton relegated

๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿšจ ๐—ก๐—˜๐—ช: These images of Mikel Arteta are going VIRAL across social media. Arteta can be seen leaving his technical area, walking past the fourth official who just lets it happen, and continuing all the way towards the halfway line during the match vs Chelsea. Fans are questioning why action is rarely taken over Arteta repeatedly moving so far outside his technical area and running down the touchline.
