The Editorial Board of Public Administration is sad to hear of the passing of Professor Christopher Hood. I am thinking of the legacy of Professor Hood today and re-reading "A Public Management for All Seasons?". doi.org/10.1111/j.1467-9299.…

Remember, we spend more on superannuation fees than electricity.
Much talk about energy prices, generation and the cost of living. Worth remembering our electricity budget share is 2.36% (ABS CPI) which is similar to beer but less than takeaway meals or restaurants or superannuation fees.

With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.

Out now open access in @govandopp! @Cosmo_Howard and I keep the 'fair go' train going with a look at how Oz Prime Ministers from Whitlam to Keating used fair go in their speeches. To celebrate I spruced up my door with an unflattering sketch of one of our subjects!

One for the journos from @auerme @DrLtrimble @jennifer_curtin @RissaReist @Angelia_Wagner and VKG Woodman - When making assessments of the character or competence of women Premiers, who do you ask (if anybody)... an elite man? (like me?)
Meagan Auer and colleagues find that journalists use unattributed assessments rather than sources when evaluating premiers’ skills and abilities, but when sources are cited, these are usually elite men. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…

Brilliant work by @fmartinezicoma and @Diegoleivavdm Give this @ConversationAU piece a read a) because the ways people participate in democracy and the legitimacy of the results matter and b) because its only the tip of the iceberg for their database on turnout from 1945 onwards!

Very excited to be the “guinea pig” for this new program! Looking forward to learning a lot and helping to serve the field in a new way 🤩
Join me in congratulating @SchwoerersKayla on her new role as an Assistant Editor for Public Administration role. The editor training program allows early career faculty to spend a year working with Public Administration as an assistant editor. (1/n)
