This is the most complete Omani port damage summary we've seen anywhere. The progression from chokepoint denial to coastline-wide infrastructure degradation is exactly what our source chain shows across Arabic and Farsi channels — but your timeline on Salalah is sharper than ours.
The commercial question this raises: if Oman is out as a bypass, and Yanbu is at capacity with 40+ VLCCs queuing, where does the "alternative route" thesis go next? Cape of Good Hope adds 14+ days and freight rates are already at record levels.
At some point there is no reroute — there's just less supply. Are your sources seeing any operators actually attempting Omani ports this week, or has traffic effectively stopped?

This is not the issue that is keeping ships in the Persian Gulf.
War risk insurance was resolved the first week.
The issue is security in the Gulf and Strait.
The U.S.-backed DFC-Chubb insurance plan for the Strait of Hormuz has grown to $40 billion because six more U.S. insurers joined, with Chubb Limited as the key partner. 🚢📈
The facility began in March with $20 billion from DFC. Now, every month, Chubb and the other insurers add another $20 billion. It covers war hull, war P&I, and cargo, which protects ships, crews, and goods in dangerous waters.
The availability of insurance has a direct effect on trade. More ships can move safely with coverage, which keeps oil and goods moving around the world.

CMA CGM containership passes Strait of Hormuz
A French-owned containership has successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz, marking the first French-owned vessel to pass through the waterway since hostilities escalated at the end of February. According to #MarineTraffic data, the Malta-flagged CMA CGM Kribi crossed the strait on 2 April after updating her AIS destination twice, first from “CGPNR” to “French Owner” at 12:41 UTC, and then to “Owner France” at 13:18 UTC. The vessel had originally been bound for Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo.
The 255-metre container ship, built in 2014 and with a capacity of 5,380 TEU, departed Ghantoot, UAE, on 28 March at 08:59 UTC. The vessel is currently underway using engine and sailing south along the coast of Oman at around 10.3 knots, with a reported draught of 13 metres, indicating she is laden.

Energy risks prompt emergency
The Philippines has declared a national energy emergency amid escalating Middle East conflict, warning of an imminent threat to fuel supply and price stability. Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, which carries about one fifth of global #LNG and nearly one third of seaborne crude, have heightened market volatility. As a net importer, the country faces acute exposure to external shocks, prompting measures to secure supply, curb hoarding and coordinate procurement. The move highlights broader energy security risks across import dependent Asian economies.

Appreciate the pushback and the client intel. That’s exactly the ground-level confirmation that matters. Quick clarification on the timeline: DFC named Chubb March 11, March 20 was the detailed structure covering hull, war P&I, and cargo for eligible transits. Chubb stepped in. The market didn’t follow.
Your three questions: no ships confirmed insured, no pricing disclosed, no confirmed transits under this facility. Zero on all three. Zero uptake makes sense given what your clients were told.
Pricing adjustable mid-voyage. DFC discretion on indemnification. Certain flags blocked entirely. BIMCO called it right. Your client intel doesn’t complicate the picture. It confirms it. This isn’t insurance. It’s liability-shifted optics on a broken market.
