why the European Union [🇪🇺] is a political dinosaur 🦕 that needs to die.
Replying to @ConsciousAI888
🇧🇪 WHAT DE WEVER ACTUALLY SAID
Belgian PM Bart De Wever told L'Echo newspaper this weekend:
→ "In private, European leaders agree with me, but no one dares say it out loud."
→ "We are losing on all fronts. We must end the conflict in Europe's interest."
→ "We cannot pressure Putin by sending weapons, and we cannot suffocate his economy without US support. Only one method remains: making a deal."
→ He refused to throw billions at energy subsidies: "I am not going to panic and throw billions out the window, as the previous government did."
📌 This is the Prime Minister of Belgium, the country that literally hosts the EU's capital. Saying this from Brussels is like the landlord telling the tenant their business plan is stupid.
🇪🇺 WHAT KALLAS SAID BACK
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas — the same person whose job is to navigate Europe through its worst energy crisis since the 1970s — responded:
→ "Europe will maintain sanctions and continue to phase out Russian fossil fuels."
→ EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen: "We will not import one molecule of Russian energy."
Meanwhile:
⛽ Oil at $105 and climbing
📈 European gas prices surging
🏭 German fuel prices leading the EU in increases
🇭🇺🇸🇰 Hungary and Slovakia blocking a €90 billion Ukraine loan because they've lost access to Russian oil via the Druzhba pipeline
💶 The EU has admitted it doesn't have the money to cushion the energy shock from the Iran war
📌 Kallas is choosing sanctions over heat. Principle over power. And she's doing it while Europe has no alternative energy supply locked in and no money to subsidize the difference.
🤔 WHO'S ACTUALLY RIGHT? LET'S FOLLOW THE LOGIC.
Kallas's position sounds moral. De Wever's sounds uncomfortable. But policy isn't about comfort, it's about outcomes. So let's think this through.
🔴 Kallas's logic: Maintain sanctions. Phase out Russian energy. Don't give Putin leverage.
The problem?
→ Europe has been "phasing out" Russian energy for 4 years. They're still not done. Full ban isn't planned until 2027.
→ The Strait of Hormuz is now closed. That's 20-30% of global oil supply disrupted. Europe's alternative to Russian energy was largely Middle Eastern energy. That's now at risk too.
→ The US just eased its own sanctions on Russian oil that was already loaded on ships. Washington is being pragmatic. Brussels is being ideological. About the same oil.
→ European industry is getting crushed. Germany — Europe's economic engine — is already in a manufacturing recession. Higher energy costs accelerate the decline.
🟢 De Wever's logic: Negotiate. Normalize. Get cheap energy back. Rearm the border.
The problem?
→ "Normalizing" with Putin after he invaded a European country sends a signal to every aggressor that conquest works; just wait long enough and Europe blinks.
→ It rewards Russia for weaponizing energy in the first place.
→ It undermines Ukraine's negotiating position.
→ It fractures whatever's left of EU unity.
📌 Both positions have real costs. But only one of them is actually connected to reality.
⚡ HERE'S THE PART NOBODY WANTS TO SAY
Europe is in a strategic trap and Kallas is making it worse by pretending the trap doesn't exist.
The trap:
1️⃣ Europe sanctioned Russian energy to punish Putin for invading Ukraine.
2️⃣ Europe never built enough alternative energy infrastructure to replace what it cut off.
3️⃣ The Iran war just disrupted the alternative supply that was supposed to replace Russian supply.
4️⃣ Europe now has NEITHER cheap Russian energy NOR reliable Middle Eastern energy.
5️⃣ The US — which pushed Europe to sanction Russia — just quietly eased its own Russian oil sanctions. Washington played the move Europe won't.
6️⃣ Europe is simultaneously being asked to send warships to Hormuz to protect energy supply they can't afford from a war they didn't start and weren't consulted on.
That's not a policy. That's a hostage situation.
And Kallas's response is: "We will not import one molecule."
With what alternative? From where? At what price? With what money?
🌍 THE BIGGER PICTURE
De Wever isn't saying "Putin is great." He's saying something much harder to argue with:
"Europe cannot sustain an economic war against Russia, an energy war in the Middle East, a military spending ramp-up for NATO, AND keep its citizens warm and employed — all at the same time.
"Something has to give."
He's right. The math doesn't work. And pretending it does, while factories close and energy bills spike isn't principled leadership. It's denial.
🇭🇺 Hungary has been saying this for 2 years. They got called Putin's puppet.
🇸🇰 Slovakia has been saying this. They got ignored.
🇧🇪 Now Belgium's PM is saying it, from the seat of EU power.
"In private, European leaders agree with me." That quote is the most important sentence spoken in European politics this year. Because it means the public position and the private position are completely different. And when that gap gets big enough, policy collapses.
🔮 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Three possible paths:
🔹 Kallas holds the line. Sanctions stay. Russian energy stays banned. Europe enters a brutal energy-driven recession. Governments fall. Populist parties surge. The EU fractures not from external pressure — but from internal pain that Brussels refused to acknowledge.
🔹 Quiet backchanneling. Europe officially maintains sanctions but quietly finds workarounds — buying Russian oil through intermediaries, extending timelines, creating exceptions. This is probably already happening. It's just not being admitted.
🔹 The dam breaks. More leaders follow De Wever. The "private agreement" goes public. Sanctions get restructured. Negotiations with Russia restart. Kallas gets sidelined. EU foreign policy shifts from ideology to pragmatism. Ukraine pays the price.
None of these are good. That's the point. There are no good options left — only honest ones and dishonest ones. De Wever is being honest. Kallas is performing.
And Europe's citizens are paying the bill for the performance.
The Belgian PM said one more thing that deserves to be the last word:
"Behind closed doors, many European leaders tell me I am right, but no one dares say it in public."
That's not a political statement. That's a diagnosis.
When the gap between what leaders say publicly and what they believe privately becomes this wide, the system isn't functioning. It's performing. And performances end when the audience stops paying.
Europe's audience is running out of money.
🔁 Repost if more people need to understand what's happening to European energy.
💬 Is De Wever right? Or is maintaining sanctions worth the cost?

if you don't like what what someone thinks or says, walk away. ignore them. when politicians get in and add onerous censorship, then it's not about opinions and debate, it becomes about control of information and discourse. that is a slippery slope and very hard to recover from.
First video site Bitchute, now social media site Gab, blocked in the UK due to threats by the censors at @Ofcom:
"The UK's Online Safety Act isn't about protecting children. It's about suppressing dissent.
"The UK's rulers want their people kept in the dark. Let them see how long the public tolerates it as their Internet vanishes, one website at a time" - statement from Gab

xitter.cf/i/grok/share/B2ZV11AMn… is wrong. the paragraph "this perspective contrasts with reports" serious issues:
1️⃣ Al Jazeera is unreliable and dishonest
2️⃣ no significant Palestinian casualties BECAUSE THEY ARE ARABS!
American politics is messed up and has been since 2000. Bush did nothing, Obama was a destructive influence. Trump (2016-2020) started the push-back. then biden happened. a quarter of a century later, trump's America first agenda explains why the dems lost in November last year
Replying to @thehonestlypod @DKThomp
They still blame Trump for their failure. That’s all they’ve got.
Decades of squandering and outright abuse and theft of public money has enriched Democrat activists while the quality of life for those they claim to serve deteriorates.
But no matter. As long as Dems can manipulate voters with fear and race the scam continues
everything this says has contemporary relevance right now (and has done so for a while now) and there are variations on a theme, because other versions of this parable that say the same but are worded slightly differently.
Do you remember when you joined Twitter/X? I didn't but it remembered for me.

on America after November last year...
as a country, a global embarrassment under the previous administration 😳 there's an optimism permeating now. different from trump's first term. I'm not 🇺🇸 but can see from the outside what a shitshow you had, fortunately it's gone now.
the government are more against the people they claim to serve. this is a starmer policy following WEF that is not good for the general public 😕

A mandating is not the law. Farmers can just tell them to get lost and sell their produce direct to the public and other outlets...but not supermarkets.
Regulatory agencies have no credibility now.
People should shop local and boycott supermarkets.
I have 2 new followers from USA last week. See fedica.com/!Computer495
this is new. previously it would have been a fractured and disjointed thread. at least now, I can see the rest of the conversation is present and hopefully others as well what the conversation was about.
absolutely not. the real moral failure was letting gaza deteriorate, leading to the mess we're dealing with now. the liberal crowd (collusion is putting it politely. they were utterly fooled), in pairing up with the "Palestinians" is where collusion is that has fooled the world.
