The fact this is the current norm of behaviour is the issue with the comms world. It's why AI so easily won the "fight". It will run these scammers out and leave the good, dependable ones.

You realize the day it releases the cloning will happen anyway? The only way to success remains as it always was. Make a GOOD game that's so good the clones can't compete with it. If they're this worried it tells me they know they have a weak game that can't stand above clones.

They're bit protected unless you edit them. Once sufficiently edited, it becomes copyrightable. Also, not releasing a demo means no one can try it before buying means reduced sales. Means they launch and it gets cloned anyway post launch.
