Eleven v4 is INSANE! 🤯 Here's my 44-sec spec ad for it. I wrote a script of everything an AI voice "can't do." Then made Eleven v4 read it out loud. Sound on 🔊

Elon outdelivers relative to everything but his own goals.. and unambitious losers unironically use that as the basis of their critique - that he didn't hit the timelines he promised, despite out-accelerating everyone else.

If you see Starship and your first thought is to make some snarky comment about Elon, you're on the wrong team. Join us and enjoy this crazy time in human existence, we very well may be one of the last generations locked to this planet and that should be incredibly exciting

Interesting thread on the cost of AI tutor compared to human ones. I truly believe that AI based tutoring will be the great leveler in education. For generations the rich have had access to private tutors to help their kids have the best start in life. Now, finally we can make this more accessible to kids from less privileged backgrounds or remote places. – at Brighton, England
Today we establish that AI is as good as expert human tutors for immediate GRE learning gains (p=.015, n=2,383 students, study conducted July-Sep 2026). One hour with an expert GRE tutor: $75. One equivalent hour with an AI tutor: 7 cents . 918x cheaper, equivalent learning (p=.044, n = 140). In 5 of 7 academic topics, the top AI tutor beat the expert human tutors on average. How we measured it: pre-test -> 1 hour with (AI or human or no) tutor -> post-test. There are no LLM judges. Learning gains are post-pre. Everything is real students. Why we did this: > 1 trillion USD is being spent per year on machines making machines better. StudentBench shows us how to shift these resources so machines also make humans better. Why I did this: I grew up in rural Kentucky. My dad, grandad, and great grandad were all mailmen. Getting into a good college changed my life. Now we have done a rigorous study to help AI labs evaluate LLMs and help show how bright AI can be for students of all incomes. I believe in good science that leads to the democratization of opportunity. The research paper behind StudentBench: arxiv.org/abs/2609.28470 Data, code, details: in this thread If you're wondering what I'm selling, sorry to disappoint: we released all study data for free on Hugging Face, and made studentbench.org free to use. Enjoy. lots more in the video / thread!!

This is what happens when your AI training is ran by HR or something random company with no AI experience – at Brighton, England
the uk government's official ai guidance tells civil servants to use gemini flash instead of pro, keep prompts short, and not say thank you to it, for the environment i do wonder at which point we forked the road. instead of building and using it to automate the work, we write guidance on how to use less of it we have the attitude of a high school prefect. caring more about the rules than actually doing the work

Not a great look when politicians come out backing a literal ministry of truth, while also disabling comments on social media. What are they scared off? Communicating with the people they are supposed to represent? – at Haarlemmermeer, Nederland

Of course, Thornberry celebrates a ministry of truth, while also disabling comments on her post. These people are vile and want to push us into 1984. Resist while you still can. – at Haarlemmermeer, Nederland

Fuck off Khan. Your job is buses and trains, not calling on the pausing of AI development – at Geldermalsen, Nederland
AI CEOs are today voicing many of the same concerns I’ve been expressing on behalf of Londoners about the pace of AI development - and it’s clear a broad consensus has now emerged that it’s time to act. AI is an incredibly powerful technology and politicians and regulators need to be alert both to the opportunities and risks it presents. Used responsibly, it has enormous potential to help us address some of the biggest challenges we face – from treating cancer to tackling the climate crisis. But used recklessly, or in the wrong hands, we should be under no illusions: it can do immense harm, including to our national security, children’s wellbeing and the safety of women and girls. I’ve previously warned AI could be a weapon of mass destruction for jobs and that’s one of the reasons why we’ve set up the London AI and Jobs Taskforce – to closely monitor its impact on our labour market and to act as an ‘early-warning system’ if there are certain negative trends emerging that we need to quickly respond to. AI experts and engineers are also deeply concerned about the dangers AI poses to cyber security and the integrity of our internet infrastructure, as well as its potential to be used by rogue states and actors to develop biological weapons. We’ve seen, in recent years, with social media the dangers of failing to effectively regulate new technologies. Social media has been used to undermine democracies, spread division and disinformation, and in some cases it’s had a seriously detrimental impact on our young people and their mental health. We can’t make the same mistakes again and take a hands-off approach to AI regulation. National Governments and the international community need to step up and urgently work together to make sure this technology is being safely developed and deployed. That means at the very least ensuring there is proper democratic oversight of AI and putting a decisive end to the era of ‘move fast and break things’. London and Europe can lead in this regard by advocating for stronger international institutions, more agile and effective regulation, and an approach that ensures we are shaping AI, rather than being shaped by it. Just like the co-ordinated international action we saw in the wake of the global financial crisis, today we need a similar response that crosses borders and is equal to the scale of the challenge we’re facing. The age of AI presents many remarkable opportunities, but the risks involved are nothing short of existential. It’s why we must work together to manage the transition in a way that is consistent with our democratic values and never compromises on the safety of our cities and societies.

If you flip the photo and adjust the contrast, the Roadster will be the correct way up. You can also see some of the angular design on the left rear of the Roadster, the crazy looking wing, and of course what looks to be the cold gas thrusters on the bottom. This is going to be on heck of a vehicle!

Went to Theo Jansen's Strandbeest Mortuarium today. I've been obsessed with these creatures since I moved to the Netherlands a decade ago and finally got to see some in person. If you've never heard of them. It's a beautiful intersection between engineering and art. Hand made, wind powered beasts that roaming the beaches of Scheveningen in the Netherlands. It's here until the beginning of November I believe. @StrandBeests – at Delft, Nederland
