New York: it's hot out there, and the power grid is working overtime to keep us cool.
Set your AC to 78 degrees, turn off lights/electronics you're not using, and unplug what you can.
Our City is doing its part too: maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming/turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment.
A stable grid means the AC stays on, and lives are saved. Let's ease demand — and get through the heat — together.

Gov. Lamont has abandoned common sense for political radicalism. 80 percent of Connecticut residents across party lines agree girls sports and locker rooms deserve to be protected. It’s about safety and fairness. We need a governor who does what’s right by everybody.

“Like you, I love our state. I was born and raised here and graduated from our public schools. My parents, working-class city kids of union tradesmen, worked hard and moved to Connecticut. They instilled in my brothers and me a sense of faith, hard work, and an obligation to do what is right. Now I’m running for governor to restore the opportunity and affordability for your family that my family moved here for decades ago.”
There’s more to this campaign than some in the media will tell you. Hear it from me directly.

This is essentially a non-story; go-arounds are very routine at airports if arrival spacing can’t be maintained or if other traffic isn’t anticipated to clear the runway in time.
I sit on my rooftop and watch go-arounds probably once or more per hour.
An American Airlines flight from Boston aborted its landing at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday morning to avoid another plane that was taking off on the same runway, authorities said. cbsn.ws/3D3TxRj

🚨 Connecticut House of Representatives Update 🚨
📣 This evening's key decisions:
✅ House Democrats voted to allow biological males to compete in women's sports, undermining fair competition for female athletes.
✅ Approved $2.5 billion in funding for Planned Parenthood, prioritizing this allocation over other pressing needs.
✅ Every Democrat voted against fully funding special education and ECS funding for Connecticut's children, neglecting the needs of our most vulnerable students.
Notably, Rep. @GreggHaddad supported all these measures, consistently voting along party lines businesses as usual for Gregory.
Is this the representation Connecticut deserves? Share your thoughts below!

The best teachers in America should be paid way more than they are right now. Instead we’re wasting that $$ on the teachers & administrators who underperform. The right answer: merit-based pay for teachers, principals, & superintendents. This shouldn’t be controversial.
I genuinely don’t understand how in New England we have succumbed to delaying schools over an inch of snow that fell well over 4 hours before schools begin. The subtle message we are telling our kids - that an inch of snow is dangerous - cannot be a good thing…

‼️Attention CT House legislators that voted in favor of Work Live Ride in 2024 based on VERBAL PROMISES by the majority leadership: this year's bill language DOES NOT say "if you have a Transit District and you like your zoning, you can keep it"
1) all municipalities that OPT IN will be subject to the 3 AS OF RIGHT provisions in the Transit District including all developments under 9 units, all 8-30gs in the transit area and all 100% affordable projects in the TOD. by non-profits, state or municipal orgs
2) you would have to apply to the Secretary of OPM for an exemption for certain local zoning regulations to remain, but they must not "substantially deviate" from the state guidelines
3) you can OPT OUT if the secretary tells you that you cannot have an exemption but you have to give any state funding back and you cannot get any future state funding unless you accept ALL the state guidelines.
BE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT'S ACTUALLY WRITTEN IN THE BILL!

Shouldn’t we also know about the people the Biden released? We can start right here in Bridgeport, CT? The largest city in the state you represent. I would hope you would express the same outrage, rather than engaging in rank partisan politics.

Biden pardoning Fauci just concedes that democrats know Fauci lied to the American public and more than likely committed pretty severe criminal behavior during that time.
America will always deserve answers for what he put us through and destroyed during Covid.

"In 1969, New York mayor John Lindsay—like Gavin Newsom, a young and attractive liberal who dreamed of the presidency—saw his political career effectively end when a blizzard dropped 15 inches of snow on the city. Streets went unplowed for days, leaving the city paralyzed. Lindsay’s White House dreams ended then and there, amid heckles from his constituents. He’d lost his focus on the basics.
None of Lindsay’s successors ever let such a weather disaster occur again. Big Apple politicians had learned a lesson. Now it’s the California political class’s turn."

Since this election is settled this hopefully won't take on too much of a partisan valence but can we just agree it's ridiculous that it takes California several weeks to count its votes? Imagine if it were a swing state.
