When will they be called to account for their lobbying of Trump's genocide tirade and finally getting the country kicked out of AGOA, or as usual will the government continue with appeasement so as not to upset investors, as it has since the advent of democracy?

The ANC is still the only party that genuinely speaks for black South Africans, so there is no need to stop voting for it. Its failures come from corrupt leaders, sellouts and spies who have infiltrated the movement, not from the ANC itself. Dividing our votes among small parties only weakens us.
What black people must do is unite behind the ANC, give it a majority, and then demand that it cleans itself - remove the corrupt, remove the sellouts and the spies, and restore honest black leadership to fix the party from within.
So predictable. Zimbos never tire of this song and desperately want to see South Africa’s demise, which unfortunately won’t happen in their lifetime.
South Africa is heading in the same direction as Zimbabwe. we might reach a point where the South African Rand becomes a local currency only, accepted & used only within South Africa, with no international exchange value or the ability to exchange it abroad. Once that happens, thats the end of South Africa.

MEDIA STATEMENT | South African government responsible for AGOA crisis – Lex Libertas
Lex Libertas holds the South African government responsible for the reported decision by the United States to exclude South Africa from the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
The South African government knew that this was a possibility. President Cyril Ramaphosa even warned that the country should prepare for the consequences. Yet the government failed to take reasonable steps to prevent this outcome.
These steps included addressing American concerns about incitement to violence against minorities, protecting property rights and promoting free-market policies. Instead, the government continued to prioritise its political ideology over the economic interests of the citizens of South Africa.
'This is shameful. The government anticipated the consequences of its decisions but chose not to address their causes,' said Dr Ernst Roets, Executive Director of Lex Libertas.
According to Lex Libertas, the AGOA crisis illustrates a deeper structural problem: South Africa’s highly centralised political system has become detached from realities at community level and shields those in power from the consequences of their decisions.
'A political system in which ideological commitments consistently outweigh the interests of the people it governs, and in which political leaders are not held accountable for the consequences, is not sustainable. South Africa needs fundamental constitutional reform based on decentralisation and self-governance,' Roets concluded.

The AGOA racists White South Africans are crying about was established by President Mbeki in the year 2000.
The way they’re going on; you’d swear that AGOA is their brain child. You lied & spread misinformation; now Deal with it

Trump removes South Africa from a duty-free trade agreement because of a fake "genocide" against white South Africans that only he can see and because South Africa accurately charged Israel with a real genocide in Gaza before the Int'l Court of Justice. trib.al/xSE4rbX

Much to blame the ANC government for, but the blame for being excluded from the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) is entirely at the foot of the conservative Afrikaner movement - Solidarity, Afriforum and their friends - and an ideological White House.
At that time China’s trade with South Africa is flourishing. At this rate one can easily speculate the powers in the White House corridors are failing to read the room. The numbers below tell the story that Pretoria surely knows where its cheese lies.👇🏿
Growing China-SA trade tells a story of win-win cooperation:
🔹Trade between China and SA reached nearly $15bn from May to August 2026, an increase of almost 24% year on year.
🔹Over the period, SA exports to China grew by about 25%, outpacing the 23% growth of SA imports from China.
🔹Agricultural exports to China reached $495m, an increase of more than 35% year on year. #ChinaZeroTariff
It is regrettable that South African policies led to the termination of AGOA for South Africa. This was a predictable and preventable outcome resulting from the rejection by South Africa's government of real concerns raised by the U.S. Government. I remain hopeful that we can find a path forward to address our larger bilateral concerns, but the South African government must understand the gravity of the situation. We know that if America succeeds, so too will South Africa. This is the partnership I will continue to pursue as expeditiously as possible.

It is encouraging to learn that some scholars went to the Mbeki dialogue on migration to tell particularly Mbeki the truth. He is living in his own intellectual bubble. Even if there was consensus that Africa has to be borderless, the solution would emanate from the 54 states of Africa. While we can agree that these are colonial borders, the fact is that they have been adopted and embraced by Africans when they signed relevant conventions and statues. But somehow Mbeki and his ilk believe this can be rectified by opening SA up while the other states hold on to their borders. If he is so persuaded, let him hop around the continent persuading African leaders to enable a borderless Africa which would be a spectacular failure. Africans don’t only love physical borders, but language borders too - Lusophone vs Anglophone, Francophone vs Anglophone, etc. They have never killed each others for Kiswahili. As president, Mbeki tried to unite Africa. He failed. He is flogging a dead horse. He knows it.
You not alone
