Incredible footage of volcanic eruption of a dormant volcano in Ethiopia from a commercial plane. A sight seen for the first time in recorded history. ⌚
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video is AI-generated and predates the November 2025 Hayli Gubbi eruption in Ethiopia, which was documented by satellites showing ash plumes rather than plane-window footage. english.factcrescendo.com/2025/11/28/ai-… factcheck.afp.com/doc.afp.com.86… space.com/space-explorat… watchers.news/2025/11/25/hay…

Nothing says fall is here like the arrival of the giant pumpkin at Valley View Farms in Cockeysville. This year it checks in at 1,822 lbs. and is known as “Action Jackson”. Be sure to stop by and register a guess for how many seeds we’ll find when we count them all on Halloween. The three closest guesses win gift certificates.

Hurricane Polo is one of the most incredible tropical cyclones in modern history: - Went from a tropical storm to Category 5 in ~21 hours - Reached Category 5 intensity three separate times - Second-most intense eastern Pacific hurricane on record (892 mb) - Forecast to make the first documented major-hurricane landfall on the west coast of Baja California tonight - Spent more than 60 hours at Category 5 intensity, an all-time record for the Northeast Pacific - Remnant moisture will bring widespread heavy rain and flooding to the Southwest and central United States - Fastest storm on record in the eastern Pacific to intensify from a tropical depression to a Category 5 hurricane

Terrible news! Sorry everyone, what a bummer
The National Weather Service is reporting a stronger and more updated westward track of the Nor’easter storm system.  Tides, floods, and high winds have prevented us from safely continuing the build of Oceans Calling Festival. Full statement:

Workers are desperately trying to keep setting up for the Oceans Calling Festival, but the worst of the high tides has yet to happen. With the beach already significantly eroded, they may run into additional issues as water levels continue to rise. The next high tide is around 7 PM and is currently expected to peak near 4.6 feet MLLW. Video by Tony Devereaux.
