Please can we all take this virus seriously, it seems to me some people are be very relaxed about this! Wake up guys the Italian disaster is coming our way. I’m sure all your food shoppers panic buying are not helping as you queue for ages shoulder to shoulder! There is enough ! – at Herne Bay, England
My heart is breaking all over again for Ruth, her family & friends. I’ve avoided engaging in the dialogue because of some very painful memories…I am not alone, so many others whose experience has been rude & intimidating & unfair. ⁦@HeadsUp4HTs⁩ theguardian.com/education/20…

As a leader never clock watch! I was a HT for 22 years and as long as staff do their jobs that is what matters, I never worried when staff arrived or left and they gave 110% 👍👍👍
As a leader, does it matter what time our teachers arrive at or leave our school? As long that they do a good job.

Wouldn't it be nice to hear a big idea that actually addresses the most acute problems facing schools and holding kids back: collapsing mental health and social services, a dysfunctional send system, huge recruitment problems, and big covid-shaped holes in attainment.
As predicted in the recent Tes column from @Samfr the Prime Minister will today announce plans for every pupil to study maths until the age of 18 tes.com/magazine/news/genera…

As the PM declares all pupils in England should study maths till they’re 18 to better equip them for the workplace, my view is we need a shake up eduction but not this. What we need is a wider, more creative curriculum; more art, music, the chance to work together & make stuff!

No one denies maths is a fundamental subject. But in our current system, imposing maths would narrow students’ choices. As with so many headline-grabbing educational policies, I want to know about the evidence supporting this idea. Show us your working! bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-6…

This is tremendously good news for our young people, for the prospects for the country and (with the right resources and lead time to build up to it) for our sixth forms and colleges.

If everyone who has ever been grateful for a doctor followed and retweeted we would reach a million in minutes and be able to show all NHS staff the support they continue to need. It will take just a few seconds of your life but could make such a difference.

If you do just two things today … watch and read this speech by @ZelenskyyUa … and support him in his efforts to get it seen far and wide in 🇷🇺 where it will not be shown on official media. He is asking for all our help to let them know the truth of what is happening in 🇺🇦

You can’t ‘get’ outstanding. Or even be outstanding. It’s a myth. You might get it in a one off, but being consistently as good as you can be while looking after yourself at the same time is preferable for me.

An accurate reflection of how we are all feeling in schools , I do hope the right people read this.
We didn’t take the decision lightly to brand Williamson inadequate on our front page. But we decided it was a fair reflection of the sector - our readers - views. Just received this letter from a head that demonstrates that:

Couldn’t have said I better myself😂😂😂
My brother is currently very ill, having been nowhere at all except his flat for months, which he shares with a school teacher, who is even more ill. Just stop talking please.

Life is precious and quickly taken away, live each day!
My beautiful husband died suddenly in August at our home. I was there for his final moments with our 2 year old. He had an undiagnosed heart condition. This month sees the first wedding anniversary and Christmas without him. Hug your loved ones tight. Nothing is guaranteed. Xx
Powerful very wise!
Magnificent speech that every liberal in America needs to watch. Urgently.
