The suspension notice at Walleys was lifted yesterday. It lasted just 11 days and the stink goes on.

Right thing to do? We are long past the authorities doing the right thing.
This is bare minimum stuff now. More than enough evidence to date for abatement and closure notices but no one has the balls.

EA are completely toothless and massively under resourced. I know this as a Walleys landfill stop the stink campaigner. Also worth noting that conservative government have reduced EA funding by about 50% I think since 2010. Will find a link 🔗

And it's still getting a 1,000 complaints a week from a demoralised population. If people weren't so sceptical about the EA, those numbers would be in the tens of thousands

The Environment Agency has undertaken "significantly more regulatory activity" and allocated more resources to Walleys Quarry compared to any other permitted site, the officer responsible for regulation at the notorious landfill has said.

Not resolved-The temporary suspension has resolved nothing, over a third of the time last week it was above the odour threshold. 990 toxic odour incident/ complaints this week.This is long term exposure, after 4 years it’s worse than ever, please do not take us for fools
The landfill is out of control, family & friends crying on the phone because they are so sick with it, their kids are sick with it. This is far beyond a public emergency. This is a mass poisoning.
