Huge thanks to @kategscience for a lovely interview, and for writing this fantastic piece in @sciam, covering our latest #iridescence #colsci reaseach @Camo_Lab @BristolBioSci @BristolUni 🪲🌈 – at Bristol, England
Weirdly shifting colors may serve dual evolutionary purposes, providing both camouflage and conspicuous warning bit.ly/3tAXo0n

Research by Dr @KarinKjernsmo has shown iridescence in #beetles can act as a form of deceptive colouration as well as #camouflage 🪲
This provides protection from predators.

Scientists have shown that iridescence in #beetles can work as a form of deceptive colouration as well as #camouflage. 🐞
This means iridescence can save prey even after they've been caught, serving both good looks and protection! 😍
