In my opinion, we're going to lose something incredibly valuable to the cultural fabric & history of this country. If Radio 4 Extra with its carefully curated archive isn't the epitome of public service broadcasting, well, I don't know what is. Only the BBC can do it. A sad day.

The concept of Grey belt needs a complete rethink. Rural areas disproportionately affected. Please join/sign to get a public debate sparked. ruralroar.org.uk/?fbclid=IwZ…

Oh, the irony of Guildford Borough Council designating this beautiful Green Belt Commonland as Grey Belt, then asking for it not to be disturbed!

The Grey belt rulings are getting out of control. Rural areas and priome green belt are disproportionately affected. "It's like fishing for tuna and coming back with dolphins" Please sign this petition for a parliamentary debate to improve its definition petition.parliament.uk/petit…

Please ✍️ this petition if you don’t want to see all our green belts go to development because of the deliberately vague grey belt definition..once our green fields are gone, they are gone forever ..let’s get to 10K #GreenNotGrey petition.parliament.uk/petit…
And yet Hertfordshire untouched green belt is constantly cited as the deliberately flawed definition of grey belt …all devised to allow developers to increase profits…residents are making it clear they do not want their green spaces disappearing to housing when there are brownfield sites and empty properties @mhclg @CHinchliffMP @libdemdaisy @TweetingCollins @StAlbansLDs @DavidTaylor85 @SustainableStA cpreherts.org.uk/news/brownf…

Excellent explainer of the West End ticket price minefield "if producers and critics had to buy their own tickets, we’d suddenly get a lot of urgent think-pieces on how unfriendly theatre ticket buying has become".

“Like pouring petrol on a raging wildfire” New report from @TyndallCentre argues that every aviation scenario the UK Gov has published overshoots the carbon budget Parliament has legislated, before a third runway at Heathrow is even taken into account. standard.co.uk/news/uk/heath…

"You can really see him in a toga with a gold laurel wreath on his head... He is an imperial kind of president." Author Robert Harris compares US President Trump to the rulers of ancient Rome, many of whom feature in his new novel, Agrippa.

"Aviation is not vital to the UK economy. It is primarily a leisure industry. More than 80% of passengers passing through UK airports are going on holiday; business use fell off a cliff years ago. In 2024, the net tourism deficit for the UK was £46.1bn." theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…

Captain Mainwaring and the Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard spot a migrant boat in the Channel and alert the Royal Navy, which promptly enacts Reform UK’s policy. The bald occupants of the boat are less than impressed. {satire}

Dreadful to hear the news of Edward Stourton. He was a brilliant broadcaster. May he rest in peace.

Campaign groups @CAGNE_GATWICK & @GACCgatwick have made it clear: an expansion at Gatwick means endangering our national decarbonisation strategy. It means extra noise, extra air pollution, all for dubious claims of economic growth. bbc.co.uk/news/live/c621n340…
