En de jonge mensen wiens levens verwoest zijn door long covid? Tellen die ook mee in de afweging?

I have horrible chest pain and need to see a cardiologist but the majority of medical specialists seem to think Long COVID is (at least in part) psychosomatic 😢 I don’t want to waste my precious energy on another pointless and traumatic conversation.

With 5.8M American children sick w/ this brutal chronic illness, I’m more than tired of justifying #LongCovid’s existence. It’s time for science intervene to help these very sick kids NOW. @CODA_research @patientled

Remember the "mysterious" hepatitis outbreak in UK kids that baffled experts back in 2022? The one we were told was due to adenovirus (or even strawberries, allergies, and lockdowns)? The one that labeled ppl mentioning the C word as fearmongerers? Turns out it was #covid19 .

Just confirmed. There is a young Sleep Specialist Professor in Sydney who has a ‘no mask , no admission’ policy. Patients must complete a questionnaire & agree. Incredibly elevating & exciting news 🤦🏼♀️ I simply can’t believe it’s true 🤩💯

Our nasal booster in the "Prime & Spike" vaccine works without adjuvants (which are needed to induce adaptive immunity but also cause inflammation). @Kwon_Dongil @tianyangmao @BenIsraelow et al. asked how this is possible. (1/)

Anyone who knows about bacteriophage therapy or profilactic use to avoid reinfections with E. Coli in felines with CKD? Via the usual UTI route? Would be happy to get in contact with anyone who has experience of that.

Fem år efter pandemins utbrott är det första gången antalet drabbade räknas i Sverige, och se: Siffrorna stämmer väl överens med resten av världens.

Why do people just ASSUME you can *rehab* people with an untreated chronic illness that has a poorly understood underlying pathophysiology back to health?

En screening för långcovid bland vård- och skolpersonal behövs i Sverige också.
Varför? Varken folk i allmänhet eller vårdpersonal har tyvärr inte koll på symptomen.

There are only a handful of neurologists treating large numbers of #MECFS, #LongCOVID, and #POTS patients. A single word from them is like a gem in the mud. We need big headlines from them, yet they often come from non-clinicians or clinicians with little experience in the field.
