The Federal Government has directed the immediate implementation of measures to strengthen the protection of health workers across Nigeria following the submission of the report of the Ministerial Committee on the Harassment of Health Workers by Security Personnel.
The measures include stronger security protocols in federal tertiary health institutions, improved incident reporting and response, closer coordination with law enforcement agencies, and stricter enforcement of existing laws against assault, intimidation and harassment of health workers.
The Federal Government reaffirms that violence against health workers has no place in Nigeria’s health system. Protecting those who provide care is essential to safeguarding patients, ensuring uninterrupted healthcare delivery and strengthening public confidence in our health institutions.

The link between climate change and violent extremism is not theoretical. It is structural.
@CSDevNet1 's livelihood assessment across Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States — three of Nigeria's most conflict-affected regions — confirmed it across 1,500 households: when climate destroys livelihoods repeatedly, when there is no social protection, and when the state is absent, desperation becomes recruitment material.
This is the conversation the climate world needs to have more honestly. Climate adaptation, livelihood development and peacebuilding are not separate agendas in Africa's fragile regions.
They are the same agenda.
