This video camera study showed that less than 5% of people on bikes broke traffic laws while riding, yet 66% of people did so when driving. And if you REALLY want even MORE bike-riders to obey laws, build more protected bike infrastructure. Via @carltonreid

Israeli troops have besieged the last three functional hospitals in north Gaza, a new chapter in a conflict that has targeted hospitals with an intensity and overtness rarely seen in modern warfare. The AP spent months collecting their stories. apnews.com/world-news/still-…

Did you know? That none of this is true.
Research has shown ABA is extremely harmful, and breaches basic human rights. Its own research is full of COI’s, studies have linked it to causing PTSD, and it breaches the UNCRPD.
People never post the ‘evidence’ with these statements
Did you know? Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is one of the most effective therapies for children with autism, supported by decades of research. Learn more at lifelineaba.com/.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Applied behaviour analysis (ABA) appears to ‘work’ from the perspective of others. But for those subjected to it, they report traumatic events from being treated with ABA. They may gain some benefits but many suffer significant negative long-term consequences.

The stark reality of what people on bikes have to face with daily. But by all means, continue to remind cyclists how you saw one drive through a quiet street stop sign once.
#bikeTO nearly had it's 6th cyclist fatality on the same day, in the same bike lane that the young woman was killed on July 25. Remarkably, our client survived. This incident should hammer home the reality as @CycleToronto said, that we are in a crisis @MayorOliviaChow 1/3

In addition to transphobia, misogyny and racism, disability is also in the mix here as so much emphasis is placed on “ideal” bodies that are surveilled for normalcy and kept in check with normative violence.
This is the intersection of misogyny, transphobia, & white supremacy - there are people who desperately want to believe that there is an ‘ideal’ in nature, and that they are ‘it’.
Be fast, but not too fast; strong, but not too strong; compete - but don’t win

Unlearning the harmful norms that are embedded in Health and Physical Education (#HPE) spaces is a crucial step if we are to provide #EveryStudent with affirming school sport opportunities. Read our blog, Re-imagining the Purpose of School Sport for more: bit.ly/PurposeOfSchoolSportB…

ALT Re-Imagining the Purpose of School Sport. “Issues like body shaming and attire segregation are all very real practices in our schools, and many current H&PE spaces don't help to reverse that. Our conversations did.” - Educator reflection from Wahid Khan, Course Director at the Faculty of Education at York University Read the full blog at Ophea.net! Ophea logo in bottom corner.

Family units manufacture problems because needs conflict with other expectations or other routines. Being by yourself as an autistic adult is revelatory. It's almost like most of the problems we've had as children were created by external forces, not our reactions to them. 4/4
Thread. Substitute "school" for "family" and you can see the problem with the "behaviour modification" approaches (ABA) we lean on in schools
