Another day, another Toronto cyclist hit by a driver — this one in a gap in the Yonge bike lanes, which @fordnation and @PrabSarkaria are ripping out. Get ready to see a lot more of this on Yonge, Bloor, and University.

I’m not going to lie, the new Via Rail cars PM Carney announced yesterday look absolutely gorgeous. I’m quite bullish on the future of rail in Canada between this new order of 313 cars and Alto HSR.

People cant even afford groceries but the Ford government is going to spend millions of dollars of your money to rip out bike lanes that save lives.
NEW: Fresh off of its court victory, the Ford government says it’s now looking for a company to start ripping out bike lanes on three Toronto roads, including Bloor, Yonge and University Avenue. #onpoli

I think what frustrates me the most about the bike lane thing is that we are personally targeting people who decide not to go congest the highways, and who choose to get exercise, and who choose to do something that's better for the planet.

Interesting and informative for shareholders to know that Shopify board member doesn’t care about the reputational harm the CEO is doing to the company.
According to the Rosie O’Donnell and Kathy Griffin of Canada, your accomplishments don’t count if you engage in wrongthink Sure, Tobi brought jobs, talent, relevance, and revenue to Toronto over multiple decades. But don’t be fooled by what he’s built - he “hates” that city, judging by a comment about town halls And sure, Shopify is one of Canada’s 3 largest companies and the only one not started in the 1800s or named in honor of the monarchy. But akshually - it “isn’t remotely” that large when you switch to a different metric, like headcount or heretical tweets by the CEO (In fact, Shopify isn’t even in the top 100 Canadian companies when you consider wrongthink-adjusted EBITDA) It’s weird to see an earnest argument that commentary matters more than real value created, but maybe unsurprising from people whose listed jobs are both (what else?) “commentator”

Mr. Lutke should be rightly condemned for these authoritarian views on democracy, and his frequent pompous directives to governments should be discounted accordingly. But please don't glorify Shopify as one of Canada's 'largest' companies: it isn't remotely. /2
The CEO of Shopify, one of Canada’s largest corporations, says the poor and the elderly should not be allowed to vote. It’s pretty clear that billionaires are the real problem, not ordinary citizens.

The Leader of the Opposition went to London to persuade people that Robin Hood wasn’t who you think
POILIEVRE: "Canada and the United Kingdom share language, culture, parliamentary government, and most important of all, folklore, including the possibly fictional legend of Robin Hood. And by the way I don't mean the medieval Marxist of 20th century retellings."

This could have kept the Ontario Science Centre operating in its original location for the next 20 years. Instead of close to a million visitors a year - children, families, and school trips - we have mothballed exhibits, an empty building, a pop-up in a mall, and partisan ads.
The Ford government spent a record $112 million on advertising last year, more than any other government in Ontario’s history, with $42 million on partisan campaigns ahead of the elections. I asked them why taxpayers should be on the hook for promoting the premier & his party:

This is how bus lanes work. When no car in lane, bus go fast.
RapidTO is already causing havoc on Dufferin as cars remain backed up while the red bus-only lane remains barren. With so many cars sitting idle, carbon emissions will surely increase to the horror of environmentalist councillor @DianneSaxe who championed the RapidTO plan. A truly ironic twist of fate for Toronto’s resident climate activist. What do you think?

Yes it will help. Bus lanes help people taking transit get places faster. This is how you make transit work.
Does the City of Toronto really think that drivers will voluntarily squeeze into the single right lane simply because they marked the other lane with expensive red paint? According to estimates, the MMA acelyte paint cost in the range of $1.5 to $2 million per lane. If you add both the northbound and southbound Dufferin and Bathurst corridors, the estimated cost of this paint job is $6-8 million. Do you think the new RapidTO transit-only lanes will help or hurt traffic flow?

Canada was declared measles-free in 1998. Now, due in large part to vaccine disinformation Canada has lost that status, with 5,000 cases of measles, 167 hospitalizations and 3 infant deaths in the last year Please get vaccinated. #vaccineswork cbc.ca/news/health/livestory…

Imaging outing yourself as both stalking people on bikes on abandoned roads & being illiterate when it comes to the Highway Traffic Act you're meant to be expert in: 56 (1) [...] a demerit point system for drivers of motor vehicles or of street cars.
#WellingtonOPP - Did you know cyclists are required to stop for stop signs and traffic lights, just like motor vehicles? Failing to stop for a stop sign carries a $110.00 fine + 3 Demerit Points under the Highway Traffic Act. This cyclist ran two consecutive stop signs without even slowing down or making any attempt to stop. Road Safety is everyone's responsibility. @wellingtncounty #RoadSafety #WROPP ^mrb
