SB 1149 (@SenMariaEDurazo) Bereavement Leave for Chosen or Extended Family was signed by @CAgovernor! This bill updated CA's existing bereavement leave law that allowed workers to take 5 unpaid days off to grieve.
We are excited for this law to go into effect January 1, 2027!
Families are already facing higher gas prices & other surging costs. Repealing clean car standards would just mean higher fuel costs & more pollution. Congress should vote NO to protect California’s ability to cut tailpipe pollution.

“At a time when our air quality is at grave risk to federal clean air rollbacks, attacks on California’s Clean Air Act authority and legislation to weaken clean air protections, Proposition 45 would invite even more pollution into California neighborhoods.” said Will Barrett, Assistant Vice President of Nationwide Policy, Clean Air @LungAssociation #NoOn45CA

Cali’s GHG Reduction Fund (GGRF) is meant to pay for clean transit, affordable housing, safe drinking water, & pollution relief. But CARB recently took action to approve a policy to subsidize oil companies and big polluters.

The CA @AirResources Board is making changes to Cap & Trade that invest that money into massive giveaways to industry instead of going towards credits on electricity bills or community investment programs for cleaner air and water, safe housing, and accessible transit.

Tho many #California legislators failed environmental justice communities w the passage of #SB131, we thank those who have stood w these communities who rely on #CEQA for protections from deadly pollution. @SenEloiseReyes

With the irrational repeal of the endangerment finding, legislators must STEP UP & use the state budget to invest in clean car & truck incentives & PASS #AB1777 to cut diesel pollution in our communities! #StopDieselDeath

Truck & tailpipe pollution drive asthma, heart disease, & early death in Inland frontline communities. Emissions standards are about keeping Californians healthy & not letting polluters dodge responsibility. @airresources @SouthCoastAQMD #CleanAirForAll bit.ly/3KmD3aC
The @LADWP Scattergood hydrogen plan will perpetuate air pollution in a region that already exceeds ozone limits. Hydrogen combustion releases NOx, a key contributor to smog & asthma. Our communities deserve better!
Thank you @CAgovernor for standing up for clean air & public health!
You've protected local clean air laws & saved lives in diesel death zones by vetoing #SB34.
