A heartfelt thank you from Chief Serr
Thank-you! Over the last 6 days I have seen firsthand #Abbotsford come together & support each other. We are #StrongerTogether & we will get through this. Too many agencies to name, this has truly been a team effort. There is #StrengthInCommunity #Respect #abbotsfordflood

We have our own mapping system and can print maps as we move forward to track progress in our recovery process.
Our @CANTF1 Geotech has connection with NASA and can print real time data from satellite imagery.
Quite an impressive system.
Lots of talent on this team.

In today’s scenario a concrete culvert rolled into a trench pinning a worker to the ground. The #Rescue technicians had the trench walls shored up, culvert stabilized & lifted off the worker in <40 min. Nice work team! Thanks @timoldfield604 for the 📷 #cantf1 #usar

Night #usar training operations for @CANTF1 last night. With @BC_EHS @VancouverPD @VanFireRescue @CityofVancouver
CAN-TF1 is gearing up for #Vanslam along with the rest of #vancouver. The core team of @VanFireRescue @VancouverPD @bc_ehs @CityofVancouver is being augmented by @CanadianForces @DNVFRS @CityOfNorthVan for today’s exercise.
These @vanfirerescue #VFRS Special Operations Technicians also serve as rescue specialists on #CANTF1- their four disciplines (high angle, confined space, structural collapse, trench) make sure we can access anyone trapped by anything, anywhere. #vanspecops
When #Vancouver #Firefighters on our #TechnicalRescueTeam say they are just “hanging around” it may be more exciting than it sounds.
Crane rescue training!

Melting snow pack and rising rivers is the perfect time to practice #swiftwaterrescue skills. HUGE thanks to @DNVFRS @NVanDistrict for hosting us during their training!
ICYMI they’re swiftwater PROS w/ 100’s of calls per year.

@DNVFRS members were out training on the Capilano river today with our @CANTF1 partners from @VancouverPD and @CityofVancouver Training to server you better.
If you’re entering the backcountry, know the risk level and be prepared. Overconfidence and/or underprep can put you AND rescue teams like @NSRescue #whistlersar @CoquitlamSAR @BCSARAssoc in avoidable danger.
“It’s prob fine” ☠️❌
“Nah, let’s reevaluate on Monday” 👌✅
Special Public Avalanche Warning for BC’s South Coast & Van Island in effect immediately. A weak layer in the snowpack currently buried about 50cm deep will remain fairly easy to trigger, w an added 10-15cm of snow on top tmrw. Resulting avalanches could be deadly. @avalancheca

❗️There's a special public avalanche warning in place for BC's interior mountain ranges. A weak layer exists at and below treeline in some interior regions which has the potential to catch people off guard.

Great to see our own DC Herbert and AC Morrison (aka @CANTF1 Task Force Leader) sharing what we’ve learned, absorbing ideas, and helping us elevate all Canadian teams to be global leaders in disaster response! – at Port Coquitlam, British Columbia
We were in Toronto this week for @Safety_Canada Urban Search and Rescue advisory committee meetings. Important conversations and alignment between the 6 Canadian teams and our national and provincial partners. #usar
