Urban Search and Rescue (#USAR) is one of the core capabilities of the Canada Task Force program. We frequently hold exercises as a way to bring together the multiple disciplines that make up this capability

Today we’re celebrating one of CAN-TF2’s four-legged team members, as K9 Loki turns six! 🎂🐾
Loki is marking his birthday on the road, as he and members of CAN-TF2’s K9 team head to Vancouver to train at CAN-TF1’s training sites and complete their annual K9 validations.
Today marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001.
We remember those who lost their lives and recognize the first responders, emergency personnel and volunteers who responded that day and throughout the recovery efforts that followed.
CAN-TF2 was proud to once again take part in the annual Tactical Days at the Military Museum on August 14 &15. This event gave visitors a closer look at some of the specialized equipment and skills our team brings to complex emergencies.
Training in a variety of environments helps our search canines stay ready for real-world missions. Last weekend our team trained at Heritage Park, using the unique site to challenge both handlers and dogs in realistic scenarios. 1/2
We had a great time on Saturday at the @SARCalgary Outdoor Show! Thank you to the volunteers, organizers, and community members who visited our booth to learn more about urban search and rescue, disaster response, and the CAN-TF2 team

So many great discussions and sharing of learnings from recent disaster events across Canada.

Today we pause for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
We recognize that reconciliation starts with listening and learning.

“Since Fort McMurray, it’s just been getting busier and busier, with wildfire in particular, but certainly we have deployed to floods and things like that as well.” rmoutlook.com/banff/banff-ca…
We’re thankful for the incredible support from the @City_of_Airdrie and all of our employers across the province who support their employees being part of the team which makes these deployments possible.
Residents are returning to their homes - something Chief Pirie said is another rewarding part of the work he and his team were tasked to do. #localnews #wildfires #airdrie
