Touchdown, Entebbe. 🇺🇬
Our inaugural flight touched down at Entebbe International Airport and was welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute.

Speaking at Entebbe International Airport, our CFO Ira Kavithi reflected on how Jambojet had evolved since we first entered Uganda:
“We return to Uganda not just as an airline resuming a route, but as a mature, market-tested low-cost carrier here to stay and grow with you.”
Daily service marked the starting point for what comes next for Jambojet In Uganda.

A decade ago, @BuuPass was exploring an ambitious idea: a solar-powered bus equipped with Wi-Fi that could also serve as an internet café. It was an attempt to rethink how people could access transportation and connectivity through one innovative model.
BuuPass was part of a generation of African startups that believed technology could solve some of the continent’s everyday problems. The vision was bold, but the journey quickly showed that having a great idea is only the beginning.
The solar-powered bus struggled to become a viable business. A Hult Prize judge reportedly estimated that $1 million would only be enough to buy a small fleet, highlighting just how expensive it could be to turn the concept into a scalable operation.

Bus operators didn’t necessarily need more passengers. They needed to stop losing money.
That discovery helped turn @BuuPass from a bus-ticketing idea into a much bigger bet on African mobility.

What does it really take to build a company in Africa — beyond the headlines, funding announcements and success stories?
Preneur Today is back for Season 2 — with deeper conversations with some of Africa’s most interesting founders and operators about the pivots, capital, mistakes, hard decisions and conviction behind what they’ve built.
This season goes beyond the polished founder story.
We get into the moments that actually shape companies:- What happens when the original idea is wrong?
- How do founders know when to pivot — and when to persist?
- What does capital change inside a business?
- How do co-founders navigate disagreement, ownership and scale?
- What happens when growth exposes weaknesses in the business model?
- And what does building a company ultimately demand from the person behind it?Season 2 features conversations with leaders building across healthcare, fintech, insurance, mobility, logistics, agriculture, climate, fashion, retail, manufacturing, food & beverage, media, e-commerce and financial services. — including @Pezesha_Africa , @BuuPass @ZuriHealth, @rescue_flare, @safiorganics, Senga Technologies (senga.co/), @ZanaAfrica @PunguluPa and many more.
