Andy Burnham’s first real test is the Budget. Labour has a second chance, but hope must mean real change workers can feel. That means money back in people’s pockets now and investment to rebuild British industry and create good jobs. The question is simple: who pays? It’s time workers stopped footing the bill. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/b…

A publicly owned bus company treating its workers like this is a disgrace. Demanding drivers continue their shifts in buses where temperatures hit forty degrees is reckless. Cardiff Bus could resolve this at a cost of just over £1000 - instead they are needlessly depriving workers of their wages. morningstaronline.co.uk/arti…

Removing the triple lock is a dangerous move - and will harm the poorest pensioners the most. This isn't about old versus young. This is about the super-rich versus the rest. So let's tax wealth to fund social care for all. islingtontribune.co.uk/artic…

Tower Hamlets councillors have unanimously opposed TfL’s proposal to axe route D7. The plans would also change routes D6, 135, 277 and SL4 across the Isle of Dogs. The consultation closes on 16 November. londonbusforums.co.uk/route-… #D7 #TowerHamlets

Rising inequality, wage stagnation, public services crumbling, there are clear parallels with the battle of cable street. Exploitation of despair and fear and the rise of hatred. But together the working class will push back. #CableStreet

Who pays? It can't be workers and the working class. There's nothing left to give. Going after pensioners is not the way to do it. We need to look at billionaires and excessive wealth in our country. @BBCr4today

This excludes cleaners from London Bus depots. The unsung heroes of Covid.
A new comprehensive pilot exploring how @TfL can deliver cleaning services in-house will begin this week. I’ve long championed insourcing where possible, and that of course includes our hard working and essential cleaning staff. I’m pleased that TfL is taking this important step both for customers and for the dedicated cleaning colleagues who help keep London moving. I want to thank the RMT for their work and invaluable input. railnews.co.uk/news/2026/09/…

Replying to @CLondoner92
But NOT cleaners in private for profit bus depots. The unsung heroes of Covid - TfL wont bring them in house.

Unite calls on Labour to lift the freeze on the personal allowance in the next budget, to be funded by inrroducing a wealth tax. We also call for an immediate cut in household and industrial energy bills paid for by the profits of the big energy firms, as well as a windfall tax on banks. newstatesman.com/politics/uk…

Does @stellacreasy care the route 58 which terminates at Walthamstow Bus Stn and East Ham Central Park doesn’t have toilet facilities at E-Ham are petitioning for toilets. Drivers run in to Walthamstow busting for a toilet - potentially impairing judgment- potential accident.
