We look at British sitcoms of the last sixty years, laugh at them, and talk about them.

The second series of Fawlty Towers is far superior to the first. Much funnier, less 'sitcom-y', and Basil is more likeable. Gourmet Night and The Germans are the only episodes from the first series that are as good as series two.

The final episode of Derry Girls is quite possibly the best finale to a television series in history.

I'm in Felixstowe on @BritComPod business and can't escape the long reach of Only Fools and Horses. Apparently this is official merch.

The only British sitcom that every single British person can truly relate with, hands down, is The Royale Family. We all have at least two or three of the sitcom's characters in our own families, if not all of them. No other sitcom has even come as close to hitting home.

People who smirk at how clever it was of the writers of 'Yes, Minister' to end every episode with someone saying the show's title clearly haven't been paying attention. At least three episodes DO NOT end with these two words – and it bugs me every time I hear this lie repeated.

The TV show, Friday Night Dinner, has one obviously glaring problem with it. The family spend so much time away from their dinners that every Friday must be a really shit, cold meal. It's a wonder the sons even bother turning up.

I'm watching The 51st State, which is set in Liverpool. It's a shite film but this is definitely a nod to the Boswells, right?

Finally finished Detectorists. I’ve enjoyed lots of comedy series over the years but none have made my heart quite so full as this. Every second of it has been a huge, warm hug. This scene with Terry and Shiela absolutely killed me. A moment of simple joy and contentment. 😭

From 'Food Glorious Food', 1975. Phil's placed a wager that Rigsby can't go without food for 48hrs. His Dunkirk spirit is tested when Ruth's cooking aromas flood the house. #ericchappell #frncesdelatour #leonardrossiter

No one who complains about Mrs Brown's Boys has ever actually watched it. It's actually one of the most expertly written comedies of the last 50 years.

The team that make Horrible Histories and Ghosts should be given carte blanche to do multiple films and sitcoms like SNL crew do.

I've never understood popularity behind the BBC sitcom Bread. I don't understand why five grown adults are still living in the same house and have all their meals there. They should all be in prison anyway for benefit fraud
