Thanks to @BostonGlobe for this editorial, which is all about the work of 250+ mission-driven professionals at @BostonPlans. I have loved serving with this team that works so hard to care for one of the great cities of the world. It has been a privilege.
As a City Councilor in Newton & former Army officer, I endorse my friend David Solet who’s running for Middlesex DA.
After Harvard Law, David prosecuted, joined the Army & brought justice for many who waited years for cold case convictions. Pls vote-9/1!

Interesting discussion last night as @KatherineCraven of @babson interviewed @janemswift, the 1st woman to lead Mass. when she became Acting Governor (2001-03). Her eventful tenure included birth of twins, the challenge of a sudden, mammoth budget crisis, & the nightmare of 9/11.

Alexei Navalny will go down in history as one of the great prisoners of conscience. His was a bright star in the sky guiding people towards conscience, courage and integrity. He will be missed, but will always be remembered.
Valuable discussion this week with @Bequall and @MassLtGov Kim
Driscoll highlighting the compelling need to produce more housing of all types in MA (at least 200k units). New policies and funding proposed by @MassGovernor can help us get there.
After Boston’s serious challenges in the 1970s, Steve Coyle of the Boston Redev. Authority & Mayor Ray Flynn were key leaders moving #Boston to a better place thru the 1980s.
Steve Coyle accomplished much for the city & its people. He will be missed.

Great story about the inspiring work of my friend Fr. Paul O’Brien (orig. from Brighton, MA), Peter Lynch & team. In Lawrence, they’re creating wonderful opportunity & bright future for state’s most vulnerable kids. @LawCathAcad @leung bostonglobe.com/2023/12/20/b…
I am truly grateful that @WMLawSchool selected me to receive its Citizen Lawyer Award. My time at America’s oldest law school served me well for the past 30 years of govt. work (mil. & civ.). Thx to @deanspenceresq
and all involved in the award decision. law.wm.edu/news/stories/2023…

Today is not a public holiday or any other formal occasion. However on this Sunday, we wanted to once again thank our ally, the United States of America, and the American people for their unwavering support to our people and our country. We will never be able to fully express our gratitude for your help. May God bless the United States of America!

As the pandemic fades & remote work continues, there’s a lot of talk about turning some types of commercial real estate into housing. #Quincy has this recent success story of public/private collaboration to create affordable units out of offices. patriotledger.com/story/news…
I appreciate the @ENRnews recognizing the accomplishments of the team at @BostonPlans during my tenure. For the past decade, they drove the historic building and planning boom that delivered important benefits for all Bostonians. enr.com/articles/55785-brian…
Jamie Gass’s piece explains the sad state of civics education.
More than 1.2 mil. Americans have fought & died for our institutions & values. The least we can do to honor the sacrifice (and protect self-government!) is teach/test civics.

Thx to @landpolicy for including my review in its recent Land Value Capture (LVC) publication, which is a good read for any municipality. Robust LVC strategies in real estate dev. can help create resources to address society’s most urgent needs. lincolninst.edu/publications…
Great for former @bostonplans team to join @SecMartyWalsh at @nutterlaw today. He discussed the economy, employmt, job training, rebuild of nation’s infrastructure & Walsh Admin bldg boom that created historic levels of property tax $, jobs & housing (incl affordable) for Boston.
Christmas came early! Gov-elect @maura_healey’s choice for Sec. of Transportation is excellent. Gina Fiandaca got big things done in #Boston & #Austin that made life better. The people of MA will benefit from her leadership in meaningful ways. masslive.com/politics/2022/1…
I’ve seen enough. My powers of prognostication tell me that Army will beat Navy. You heard it here. #GoArmyBeatNavy! @SenatorMikeRush
