♀️Most women who get waved off in perimenopause are not dramatic.
A lot of clinicians were barely taught this. In one survey, only about 7% of medical residents felt prepared to manage menopause. About 20% got no lectures on it at all.
If you were told it was “just stress,” that can be a training gap. Not a personality flaw.
This isn’t hockey related or injury related but I still share and promote general health and medicine knowledge
In 2025, the black box warning of hormone therapy for women in menopause/perimenopause highlighting cardiovascular risk was removed
A new systematic review posted on October 6th sharpened evidence and confirmed that hormone therapy remained the benchmark therapy for menopausal vasomotor symptoms
Perimenopause and menopause is a confusing time, which is why I have wrote a book that highlights what it is, treatment options (hormonal and non-hormonal) and provides tons of tools to guide you or a loved one through the time!

Morrissey has now been placed on IR
Wonder if repeat imaging showed a scaphoid fracture, which still can heal without surgery, but surgery may quicken the healing process
Given no surgery is needed, it may not be severe enough or he didn’t break it
Could just be a worse sprain still than thought before that isn’t responding
A TFCC injury (I believe Joe Burrow had this in the past) is possible too
Brandon Montour left the game early last night and is listed as DTD now
Only video I could find of the potential injury here
His knees didn’t seem to undergo excessive stress in any direction so I’d think his knees are fine, especially given the day to day
He may have overstretched his adductor muscles as he looked to go into an awkward split for a second
Even those injuries are week-to-week with some conservative treatment so interesting to see news and could just be a precaution
#SeaKraken are without Brandon Montour right now.
The KHN broadcast said he's gone missing twice tonight, but here is his most recent shift. He did have an awkward fall going over the blue line...

Scary play as Eetu Luostarinen crashed hard into the boards
He returned to the game which is great news but let’s break down some general possibilities
His left ankle inverts at first which could cause any ankle sprain or fracture
Main concern of course on the boards and his whole left side
Strong mechanism of injury for AC joint sprains/separations, dislocated shoulders, broken arms/wrists especially how his left arm seems to be exposed

Morrissey has been downgraded to week-to-week
Leads to the belief that this is more of a wrist sprain that isn’t getting much better during this first week
It is important to redo imaging for a recheck of potentially missed scaphoid fracture as well or carpal ligament injuries

Injury and then hopping on a long flight great recipe for a blood clot forming
Scary stuff that could travel elsewhere in the body, especially the lungs causing severe complications
Hope Jalen gets well soon!
Breaking: #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is out for Sunday due to a superficial blood clot.
Full statement from the #Eagles on QB Jalen Hurts:
“On Thursday, October 8th, Jalen visited the training room after practice requesting treatment for his calf. He informed the medical staff he had been cleated during the Rams game on October 4th. This was his first treatment session for the calf injury following the game, after having practiced in full both Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, Jalen received treatment, practiced in full, and was added to the practice report.
“Out of an abundance of caution, an ultrasound was performed on Saturday following the team’s flight to London and walkthrough. The ultrasound revealed a superficial blood clot. Our medical staff and doctors in London reviewed the results and concluded that activity and mobility were important and that Jalen could safely play. Doctors recommended a follow-up ultrasound within 72 hours of the game and the return flight to Philadelphia.
“Jalen played without limitation in the game Sunday, received treatment on Monday and Tuesday, and practiced in full on Wednesday, as reflected in the practice report. Throughout our time in London and this week, we have remained in communication with the league office regarding the matter.
"On Wednesday night, a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement in the small blood clot. Jalen will be out for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers as we determine the appropriate course of treatment. His health and safety are our highest priority.”
William Ekland had surgery done to fix a torn ankle tendon and is out 10-12 weeks
Given these clues and the mechanism of the video, it could be likely that the peroneal tendon was the tendon fixed
There are multiple tendons grouped into this with the peroneus brevis classically occurring during inversion injuries
Posterior tibial tendon tear is possible too but is often more a degenerative injury but occurs with severe eversion which isn’t as visible here

The contact appears to be near Taylor Hall's left rib cage. A rib fracture or injury to the surrounding structures is certainly possible.
But watch his head snap into side bending and extension during the collision. That raises concerns about a potential cervical injury or concussion.
Also worth considering his history of left shoulder injuries:
• 2012: Left shoulder labral surgery.
• October 2023: Injured the same shoulder following a hit from Brandon Carlo, then aggravated it again later that month.
Given his history and the location of this latest contact, the left shoulder and surrounding structures are worth considering as well.
Been trying to find other details about Taylor Hall all day, but this is teeming the only video I can find
He is out and the Canes coach said “it doesn’t look good”
If this is the cause, hard to find a clear issue outside of a rib issue that would cause that much concern rather quick
