Anyone know the status of Jim Gamble's independent review into the DUP over who knew what about Jeffrey Donaldson? I thought it was to be completed within three months?

Ah yes, Finland, the "neutral bystander" of WWII. Just standing there, totally uninvolved, while Leningrad starved. Cute story. Too bad it's pure fiction. Finnish troops sat on Leningrad's doorstep for three years, and they weren't sipping coffee. They held one-third of the blockade line. Without Finland, the Germans couldn't have fully closed the ring that starved 1.5 million people to death, including 400,000 children. On June 25, 1941, Mannerheim ordered the Finnish Army into the war against the USSR: "I call you to a holy war against the enemy of our nation. Together with the mighty armed forces of Germany, as brothers-in-arms, we resolutely set out on a crusade against the enemy to secure a reliable future for Finland." And the crusade came with a map. On the "Greater Finland" plan you'll find Murmansk, Leningrad and Kandalaksha marked as Finnish 👇

Hitler had been dead for three weeks when Churchill asked his generals for a plan to attack the Soviet Union. German soldiers were supposed to march on his side. The plan was called Operation UNTHINKABLE. In May 1945, British military planners examined a surprise attack on the Red Army, with July 1 set as the starting date. The offensive would involve British and American forces, Polish troops, and rearmed Wehrmacht divisions. But Stalin already knew what was coming from Soviet intelligence. In June, Marshal Zhukov unexpectedly regrouped Soviet forces and strengthened their defenses. Meanwhile, British generals were doing the math. The Red Army outnumbered Western forces in Central Europe by roughly three to one. A quick victory looked unlikely, and a full-scale war against the USSR could drag on for years. Churchill never launched the attack. But he had ordered his generals to prepare for war against the very country Britain had just fought alongside. As Leo Tolstoy put it, “A word is an action.”

John Pilger, a man of immense intelligence & honestly wrote this in 2014. A factual article, its contents never acknowledged today. "Ukraine has been turned into a CIA theme park. In Orwellian style, propaganda in the west has inverted this to Moscow."

To put all of the recent discourse from Unionist Political Parties about the "Provisional IRA" into perspective:- Can anyone point me to the "outrage" from ANY of the main Unionist Political Parties, when over 1,000 (current) members of the UVF lined the streets of the Newtownards Road in East Belfast in June 2024 in a "show of strength" ? The hypocrisy from the DUP, the TUV and the UUP is breathtaking. All of these Parties who preach from their political pulpits about "law breaking" have indulged the continued existence of Loyalist Terrorist organisations. All of them... @duponline @uuponline @TUVonline @GRobinsonDUP @JonBurrowsMLA @JimAllister @BelTel @BBCNewsNI @UTVNews

Every night, Israeli soldiers fire bullets at the tents of displaced Palestinians for entertainment, and Palestinian civilians are killed day after day while sleeping inside their tents. Tonight, an innocent little girl Misk Al-Dalo was killed, becoming yet another victim of Israeli brutality in Gaza. Please share this video in every language so the world can see what is happening and this senseless killing of Palestinian lives can finally stop.

He did a lot of good. But he fucked up during the miners strike when at the height of the battle he went with Robert Maxwell’s crew and fucked over Scargill.
Jimmy Reid was born in Govan, Glasgow, in 1932, when it was a major centre of British shipbuilding. He became an engineer by trade and a shop steward for his union. In 1971, Edward Heath’s government decided the Upper Clyde shipyards must survive without state support. At least 6,000 jobs would be lost. Reid and his fellow leaders, Jimmy Airlie, Sammy Gilmore and Sammy Barr, refused to walk out. Instead, the workers stayed in and kept building, completing the yard’s orders themselves to prove it was worth saving. Reid told them there would be no hooliganism, no vandalism and no bevvying, because the world was watching. And the world did watch .Support came from unions abroad, from John Lennon, from Billy Connolly and from ordinary members of the public. The following year, Heath backed down , and the Clyde yards received £101 million in public support over three years. When Reid d*ed in 2010, his hearse passed a Govan yard his fight had helped to save . Hundreds of workers gathered outside to pay tribute.

Grangemouth wasn’t closed for economic reasons - it was closed for political reasons, to undermine feasibility of Indy Scotland
Andy Burnham has admitted that the £200m Labour promised for Grangemouth has never been paid. When pressed by STV's Colin Mackay, Burnham said it was "still being discussed". They'd never any intention of saving the refinery jobs or paying £200m to help the local area.
