WHAT IS HARVEST LOSS REALLY COSTING YOU? A new @theGRDC GroundCover article shows exactly why harvester set-up matters. After attending a GRDC Harvester Set-Up Workshop, one grower modified his machine. When tested at more than 8km/h, the modified harvester recorded just 0.6% machine loss – compared with 12% from the unmodified machine. Another grower calculated that reducing harvest loss from 3% to below 1% could save more than $30/ha. The message? Measure your losses, understand your machine & make every grain count.
