🌡️ Around 200 lentil lines with potential for improved heat tolerance are now in field trials through a GRDC investment led by @VicGovAg.
The research combines phenotyping, genomics, AI and speed breeding to identify lines that can maintain yield and stability under hotter conditions.
Major trials are underway with @Sydney_Uni and @Living_Farm, with additional testing involving @SA_PIRSA and JB Ag Services.

Beacon field day explored @GRDCWest Time of Sowing Oat Trial, comparing early & main sowing across 6 oat varieties, 2 wheat and 3 seeding rates.
The group also visited the Beacon @GRDC_NVT Cereal Site, looking at current wheat & barley varieties with @BreedersPlant @InterGrain1
Growers recently joined our AgCollab field day to explore the latest cereal varieties, trial results and research. The day included @theGRDC legume trials, @InterGrain1, @BreedersPlant, RAGT and Christopher Watts, BNI Trial on biological nitrification inhibition in wheat.
This week we went through some canola and legume trials with 40+ 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Ag students and SNAGS members from UWA. Great questions and discussions from an enthusiastic bunch! The Ag industry is in great hands! – at York, Western Australia
Living Farm have been working with the Morawa Farm Improvement Group over the past 3 years to showcase barley varieties suitable to the region.
This @GRDCWest NGN investment has been strongly supported by MFIG, and it was great to show growers and industry around the site.
