これ、エッジのところで輝度が反転する（位相がずれる）ことによる reversed phi (4 stroke apparent motion)がベースの知覚現象で、「矢印で惑わされてしまうのでーす」は意図的なミスリードなのだが、「矢印で惑わされている」と思い込ませるメタな認知イリュージョンにもなっていておもしろい
