Or the healthcare people depend on, the child care parents need so they can work, and quality schools for our kids.
Indeed. And much of it is being spent to spread lies about the graduated income tax. The truth is that Amendment 87 will cut taxes for anyone making less than $500k a year. That includes small business owners, seniors and vets. Get the facts at protectcoloradosfuture.com

Legislators can only adjust downward. Any increase in taxes would have to be approved by voters. It’s a core tenet of TABOR and Amendment 87 doesn’t change that.

All business making less than $500k a year will get a tax break. That’s 94% of Colorado businesses.

This is both misleading and incorrect. The legislature can reduce rates but any increase would have to be approved by voters. Also, everyone making under $500k gets a tax break. You should look at this piece to better understand marginal tax rates. bellpolicy.org/in-the-know-m…

Any tax increase still has to be approved by voters. That’s a central tenet of TABOR and Amendment 87 doesn’t change it.
Curious, isn't it, why conservatives who so often talk about cutting taxes are foaming at the mouth in opposition to Amendment 87, which would cut taxes for 97% of Coloradans. #copolitics

Thank you to The Durango Herald for supporting the graduated income tax, Amendment 87. The Herald also recommends a no on 136, which they rightly call out as an effort to negate the graduated income tax.
We're grateful to @9NEWS for the fact-check on the blizzard of lying texts that dark money interests have foisted upon Colorado voters. The graduated income tax DOES NOT raise taxes on low- to moderate-income seniors and veterans. It cuts taxes for everyone making less than $500k
The "No on 87" campaigns mislead voters by saying Amendment 87 would tax Social Security and pensions differently. 9news.com/article/news/polit…

Thousands of Colorado voters received false text messages warning that Amendment 87 would “hike taxes” on seniors and veterans.
This is “not supported by the text of the measure.”

Thanks Scott! The measure requires all taxable net income to be taxed. This would be a strict mandate in the state constitution. State deductions and subtractions would be on the chopping block. It’s pretty straightforward. Bell Policy made a choice to do it this way. #copolitics
