The present system heavily favours parades, which is why any unionist should think long and hard about rocking the boat.

Cut on carbon tax on home heating oil will mean a reduction of around €50 on an average 900-litre fill. But 900 litres costs approximately €700 more today than they did at this time last year, says Fuels for Ireland.
#Budget2027
Hard to believe that in 1995, Junior Finance Minister Phil Hogan had to resign after part of the Rainbow Coalition’s Budget was leaked.
31 years later, there are enough Budget leaks to fill the River Liffey before the Minister even gets to his feet…

🚨 Open letter from people of Protestant backgrounds concerning the Garvaghy Road
🚨 We feel compelled to speak publicly about what is happening in Portadown.
🚨Over the past few hours we have collected over 140 signatures.

Strong piece.
The point about “mob rule” is particularly sharp — you can’t condemn it when it suits you, then celebrate it when it delivers the outcome you want.
And an important reminder: Protestantism is not Orangeism. The Orange Order does not speak for all Protestants.

⁉️💥BREAKING GARVAGHY: Agreement could be 'close', but Secretary of State says it will 'require a chunk of compromise' and he is not sure if it is 'possible'
⛔️Secretary of State Sir @RhonddaBryant says nothing “is dead in the water” when asked if that was the case with mediation.

His legal strategy was clever but now he's just completely lost the run of himself.

This is a significant intervention from An #Taoiseach... says that there is "...no need for a parade to go down the #GarvaghyRoad." He also puts the current impasse and problems in a proper context. #Drumcree
“They can celebrate that up North, but not the rest of the country…”
Disagree.
Nationalists spend 12th July getting away from marches, while plenty of Protestants have no interest in attending.
Also July 12 isn’t even a UK-wide holiday — it’s specific to Northern Ireland.
🗣️ “When you become a united Ireland, you can’t just become partitionist and say, well, they can celebrate that up north but not in the rest of the country.”
The #MondayGR panel discussed the Garvaghy Road dispute and how Orange Order marches could be dealt with in a potential united Ireland.

Super proud wife. Thankfully - I did come home safely to my husband and children this weekend.
In the 1990s 21 people didn’t.
Including his mummy 💔
