Asked this: The home health checklist says stay home if you OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD has symptoms. But if anyone in your household has COVID, you CAN go to school as a vaxed close contact. Can you explain that? No answer

I just got a call from a parent who *refused* to believe that students could lead their own walkout. Students are powerful y'all. At RYH, we are consistently thinking about how we share power w/ students. That also includes getting out of the way on days like today & listening.

This is like comparing apples to oranges to Buicks. Percentage of positive pools is totally different than percent of positive tests. And surveillance testing is very different from the overall testing and should always be much lower.

Once again, if schools are closing, it is not due to staff shortages. It is DUE TO COVID. Staff shortages are BECAUSE OF COVID.

It's embarrassing watching US leaders double down on vaccine-only messaging in response to Omicron. Vaccines are great. But to end this pandemic we need more. Leaders should call for #VaccinesPlus other public health measures inc. masking, testing, ventilation & filtration.

Actually the State contracted CIC, not BPS. The District opted into the "test and stay" program that DESE was offering. Chelsea, Lowell, and Revere are all having issues as well, so it seems CIC was completely unprepared to fulfill this contract.

It is important for public to understand the details when CDC says 3 ft is OK - specifically that in areas w high or moderate transmission (MA), MS/HS should be at 6ft unless podding can be used. AND if less, there will be a lot more quarantining.@MASchoolsK12 @MassGovernor
