ICYMI, walk-in PCR testing at Anna Cole ends today. AFAIK, no replacement site has been announced. A lot of the BPS community relied on this place. Thank you, Anna Cole Testing Ppl, for being there for our family & others. Giant double birdie flip to whomever made this decision.
Image showing person in mask performing Covid PCR test. Large caption below image reads "We're relocating"; "Relocating" has been crossed out and handwriting-style text reads "permanently closing on the first day of school". Further text reads "Last day of testing at the Anna M. Cole Community Center will be 9/8/2022."

Starting today, masks will be optional in some places where they had previously been required, including on mass transit.

Cheers to the operative who sent this to me literally as my kid was declaring how stupid it is that they still need to wear a mask.

QotD: What organizations are doing real work around gun violence *and* can accept donations of stock/securities? Want to point some people in the right direction. TIA.

(I can’t believe BESE made me come out of retirement just to reference a next-level TERF.)

SUPER-fucking psyched to learn that me & my permanently reduced lung capacity can wear an N95 respirator all day every day so that normal people can normal.

A reminder that "ending mask mandate" does not mean "no one can wear masks". A high-quality mask (N95, KN95, KF94) is highly effective and protects the wearer, even if others are no longer masking.

I need someone to make a Venn diagram comparing the content of the three "BPS Community Updates" I just simultaneously received from Mayor Wu, BCass, and SC Chair Jeri Robinson.

I'm presuming it says "Many Boston parents" because they couldn't fit "Many Boston parents of extraordinarily narrow and specific demographics"

Also I'm endlessly amused by Twitter's well-intentioned "would you like to read the article before you share it?" feature. Fuck no I don't! That's exactly why I'm sharing it.

⚠️PSA: When BPS IAQ site went up, times were in UTC (Greenwich mean time). Then it changed to show EST on site but downloads still had UTC. Sometime b/t 1/27 & 2/1, column header was changed but data was not,so exports say EST in header row but times are really 5 hrs in future.

If anyone's friends w/ the ppl who have control over that, can you give them a heads up? (Oddly enough, I'm not.) That won't fix it going backwards, tho, so if you've exported anything from the IAQ site after 1/27, please check the creation time of your file & adjust accordingly.

FUCKIN' RIGHT?? Still proud to have been that person for the people to the left and right of me.
An Alternative Negro@MalikaiUnique31 Jan 2022
BLA (and BLS) used to use that shit as a badge of honor "Look to your left, look to your right, one of these people will not be here when you graduate." Like... that sounds like a y'all problem lmao 🤣 #bospoli
