.@ASPolice < There are vehicles parked on unmarked roads in the Bristol area today that are blocking the pavements & so forcing pedestrians, wheelchairs & pushchairs to enter the road, which is illegal. Please could you send a unit to investigate. #ReTweet

This #pavementparking hinders the school run for so many children every day.

Ping @BOSAtpgroup. We need to all join-up and have a strategy. Some coordinated civic action may be in order. @Kate0liver
Kiddo can just squeeze by these instances of #pavementparking but not enough space for a buggy or a wheelchair. Especially irritating when I see these people come into #BS5 -no RPZ- to park their cars while they work.

Another council cracking on with Liveable Neighbourhoods / Low Traffic Neighbourhoods. What's Bristol's plan? Please can we have an outline of the plan for Liveable Neighbourhoods @BristolDon ?
✅Friendly streets where the air is cleaner ✅Reduced pollution ✅Cut road traffic collisions and carbon emissions ✅Reclaiming local streets for the local community Cabinet have agreed to introduce trial LTNs in Bounds Green, Bruce Grove and St Ann’s - bit.ly/31BOpB7

“Pavement parking can be necessary to maintain the free flow of traffic,” says Under Secretary of State for transport @CharlotteV Looks like UKGOV won’t create national policy on pavement parking; local councils to be left with it. @guidedogs @livingstreets – at Byker, England
Have now had a response to my letter to @grantshapps on #pavementparking - see what you think of it!

If you want to see Liveable Neighbourhoods / safer streets in your area before 2025 please ask your councillor what you can do. And.. What will the council do to help you develop Liveable Neighbourhoods?
The LN strategy has been delayed to incorporate learnings from the pilots. Handbook out in 2022 but we're not clear on its purpose. Thousands was spent on development of the strategy, involving many council departments. We don't know why it was pulled at such short notice.

The reality of parking on pavements, forces vulnerable pedestrians onto the road. Despite campaigning for 5years @BristolCouncil @MarvinJRees don’t see it as an important issue. Is this an acceptable way for a child to walk to school? Who has priority, the child or the driver?

Hello.... how can this parking be considered as safe or courteous? Corner of Falmouth & Hatherley Road. What can we do to prevent such selfish parking? @BOSAtpgroup @bishmatters @bishopstonvoice

Please can we have our pavements back for pedestrians and not car parking. This forces us all including parents with small children and vulnerable people out into the road to confront traffic hurtling along. @MarvinJRees @BristolCouncil @BristolDon
I agree with @livingstreets: there can be no more stalling on #PavementParking in England. @thangammp, as my MP I would like you to read their open letter to Grant Shapps and help us #ReclaimOurPavements. livingstreets.org.uk/our-let…

Bristol doesn't have a plan or strategy for: ❌Active Travel ❌Walking ❌Cycling ❌School Streets ❌Cycle Hangars But it was going to have a Liveable Neighbourhoods strategy in 2022, this was what a lot of residents were holding out for, until it was pulled last week.
What, How, Why, Who? November 5th 2021: Blog championing the upcoming Liveable Neighbourhoods Strategy November 16th 2021: Liveable Neighbourhoods Strategy scrapped during the scrutiny meeting in which the outline of the strategy was to be presented.

Actual : One trial LTN in place by March 2023 Election Manifesto 2021 : Roll out at least 2 LTNs with a view to expanding it. Cutting it a bit fine for May 2024?

2/2 BS7 survey results showed sub section 3 was ‘overwhelmingly’ in need of RPZ but nothing has happened since?! Why do residents have to walk on the road WITH the traffic whilst Clifton get the best of everything?
