Another day & another driver putting lives at risk, this one 09:54 in a 30mph limit on the A358 at Henlade!
In the last 2 yrs (2023 & 2024) there were 876 fatal & serious injury collisions on @ASPolice roads. In more than half of these speed was listed as a contributing factor.
This driver presents a significant risk to pedestrians & other road users! A level of driving that is reckless & selfish! This is Lysander Rd, Yeovil just after midday today, when we detected this driver at 72mph in a 30mph limit.

We're appealing for witnesses after a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Coombe Street Lane, Yeovil on Saturday 8 February.
A woman sustained minor injuries but her dog had to be put to sleep.

This is the moment officers discovered one of the occupants of a car they stopped had a firearm tucked in their waistband.
Drugs and a knife were seized from the vehicle too and this week the two people arrested at the scene were jailed.

A teenager has sadly died after a collision near Frome.
Emergency services were called to the A362 Vallis Road after a RTC involving a blue Mazda at about 1.35am on Saturday 8 February.

Near miss reports provide us with a valuable insight & helps us understand more about the underlying risk & causations found in fatal & injury collisions. So far we've received 12k reports but only 214 have come from motorcyclists!

We are working across the region to address the high number of motorcyclists involved in collisions on our roads. Working with partners such as @SC_RoadSafety we want to understand more about the factors involved and develop operations & initiatives to address this risk.
