You are completely wrong Ravi. I understand your point. I get the logic you are trying to apply. But it's wrong. Let's say it is the fault of cheap data and increase the price of it. You know what would happen? - People would use YouTube, Instagram, X a lot less. That would hurt the creators and the platforms making money through ads. - Internet economy which is booming right now, would slow down. You know how many internet based startups are here and how many jobs would be at stake? - People learning through YouTube and free online courses in rural areas would find it extremely difficult to do so. There are many people in this country who earn a max of Rs 100 to Rs 150 a day. How would you tell them to save money for data consumption? Or would you just assume that they don't require data and should be digitally excluded? - what would have happened during the pandemic if the data wasn't this cheap? People would have been more frustrated inside their homes. - You can post on X and have a big following because the data is cheap. Data is a tool. It can be utilized anyway you want to. It being expensive won't mean people wouldn't waste time anywhere else. Drugs are expensive, those who want to do it, find a way. Data should be cheap. That's how India will progress fast.
