Why Terra Classic's LUNC used to be called LUNA
In May 2022, Terra's UST stablecoin lost its dollar peg. Terra voters then passed Proposal 1623 to start a new chain without UST, which went live at the end of that month.
The new chain took the Terra and LUNA names, starting from block zero with no shared history. Holders of the old tokens received new LUNA by airdrop.
The original chain became Terra Classic, with LUNA renamed terra-luna:native and UST renamed $USTC. Terra Classic kept running as a community-run chain, with terra-luna:native as its native token.

Terra Classic doesn't rely on outside oracles; it votes on its prices
Most blockchains buy price data from services like Chainlink. Terra Classic has its validators do the job themselves.
In each short voting round, validators submit exchange rates for terra-luna:native. The chain lines up all the answers and picks the middle one, with bigger validators counting for more. Validators who land close to it share in the oracle reward pool.
A vote too far from that median counts as a miss, and so does a skipped vote. Validators who miss too often in a set window lose part of their stake and get jailed, which drops them from the active set.
Per validator(.)info data, 86 of 87 active validators voted in the latest round.

[Dev update] SDK v0.53 introduces a breaking change: the Cosmos SDK no longer constructs legacy logs for transaction queries or broadcast responses. The canonical output is now events.

Clarification for the #TerraClassic community:
There are voices claiming that I (creator and current manager of terra-classic.money) “need help maintaining” the site. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Terra-Classic.money v1.0 is stable, actively managed, and most importantly already a measurable win for Terra Classic.
In 7 months, it has delivered real onboarding and discovery outcomes that simply did not exist for years after May 2022, when the ecosystem relied on fragmented, outdated, or misleading third-party links.
v1.0 performance after ~7 months:
• ~42k active users
• ~43k new users
• ~90k page views
• ~74k sessions
• ~45s average engagement time
• Strong global distribution (top countries included United States, Türkiye, Indonesia, India, Thailand, China, Brazil)
That traction is exactly why I’m not “struggling to maintain” anything. Quite the opposite: v1.0 proved the thesis, so I’m already building the next step.
I have started work on Terra-Classic.money v2.0 (homepage design completed and shared publicly on Agora) and I’m running a community funding campaign to deliver v2.0 within one month after the end of the fundraising campaign.

• multiple language versions
• integrated docs within the website experience
• stronger, consistent branding and narrative
• clearer onboarding and ecosystem structure

Lately, more members of the Terra Classic community have been losing their funds to scammers. This is happening as the terra station app @StationWallet is no longer updated to run smoothly with Terra Classic , and scammers are taking advantage.
🚨 How they operate:
They pretend to be Terra Station support, asking for your seed phrase or asking you to “connect” to fake apps or phishing websites. Once you do ,they drain your wallet. ( they do the same for trust wallet )
👉 Remember:
There is no official Terra Station support active on social media.
Never share your seed phrase or private key.
Never connect to shady links or “support” pages.
If you can’t access your funds on Terra Station, you can safely migrate to other wallets such as Galaxy Station (@hexxagon_io ) or Keplr (@keplrwallet ).
You can find trusted wallet links on the official @CoinMarketCap page for LUNC ; go to the “Info” section website .
💡 Tip: On Galaxy Station, you can cancel undelegations to prevent scammers from widrawing your LUNC or USTC. Withdraw all tokens (even dust) to a new wallet to buy yourself time.
Sadly, there’s no bulletproof way to recover stolen funds , but I personally have some methods that can help , though they’re always risky.
If you prefer, you can use other trusted recovery services like @Allnodes or @cosmosrescue, which have helped some cases as well.
Stay safe.
Never share your seed phrase. Never connect to unknown links.

Hey, #LUNCcommunity.
We've got something, especially for the new users and builders looking for up-to-date information.
At docs.terra-classic.io we've put up a modernized and reworked documentation for several things on #TerraClassic.
To manage the site, a new GitHub repository has been set up, which automatically deploys the site on approved changes. This site is *not* considered official, it is a centralized solution even if aiming for maximized community contribution and a broader reviewer/approver set. We will invite more reviewers/maintainers to the repository over time, currently the first three are myself, @frag_dude and @UncodeLounge.
The repository at github.com/terra-classic-io/… contains a github.com/terra-classic-io/… with (technical) information on how to contribute.
A site like this can only thrive and evolve through contributions, feel free to add issues or pull requests to the repository, which can then be commented on and be discussed. There is still lot of useful information about this chain that could be added to the documentation.
I've built this site to be released under MIT license to minimize concerns about ownership in case it would be necessary to move the contents and design to a different hosting solution.

I deployed the reworked version of the Astroport Classic Page on astro.terra-classic.io.
Feel free to check it out and report issues.
BE AWARE: The chain is not patched yet. You cannot swap TO native or IBC tokens, so expect those swaps to FAIL.
If you swap from a native token (e.g. $LUNC) to a CW20 token (e.g. ASTROC) that will work, but you will be stuck and cannot swap back.
I deployed the interface early to be able to fix issues and react to feedback before the patch lands on mainnet in some while to re-enable the astro classic contracts.
