🧪 Terra Classic Testnet Update — SDK v0.53
The rebel-2 testnet has been running Cosmos SDK v0.53.x for 3 weeks.
Core chain services are stable, and the network is still under active testing.
This upgrade moves Terra Classic onto the latest Cosmos SDK (v0.53.4) and IBC V2 (IBC-go v10.3.0)
A notable ecosystem change is an upstream SDK behavior update affecting tx logs.
Developer guidance and compatibility notes are published below.

Hello #LUNCCommunity 👋
Our vision for Terra Classic is simple: a production chain that exchanges, validators, and builders can trust.
The next step is an independent security audit by SolidProof. This proposal covers the preparation for the audit. When the report is published, Orbit Labs will fix the findings and ship the patches.
We're here for the long run, and we'll keep you updated at every step.
Please read the proposal, share your questions, and cast your vote 🗳️

Orbit Labs retweeted
As people ask, here a status update on the MM2.0 for #TerraClassic:
The PR is open here since end of May:
github.com/classic-terra/cor…
There were open review comments from copilot (AI) and hoank (@orbit__labs). They were now all addressed and all CI tests are green.
So what's left is for someone to:
- thorough review
- coordinate testnet deployment
As I said I would assist with the latter, but I can't review my own work. Well, I could, but … would be kind of pointless, right? And I could also deploy on testnet without further review, but again … that would be kind of not the way to do things.
As @daolunaclassic stepped up taking on the work, I'm happy to address comments that would come up in a review of the work done.

Cheers.
Following the @orbit__labs update:
LunaClassicDAO will assume full ownership and execution of the USTC Staking protocol development, as well as Market Module (MM2) integration, building directly on the OrbitLabs technical foundation.
In the next couple of days we will publish a formal proposal on Agora for community discussion and feedback.

The Future is #OnChain
Hello #LUNCCommunity
A quick update on the USTC staking proposal.
Orbit Labs won't be taking on the implementation — sorry for the back and forth on this one.
Most of the work left here is spec and economic design: reward curves, APR targets, parameter policy. That's a different problem from what we're built for.
Our focus stays technical: chain improvements, security patches, SDK upgrades, release engineering and docs, CEX and validator coordination. That's the direction we're heading.
The design itself is sound and the community voted for it. We're stepping aside so a team better suited to the economic side can carry it forward, and we're happy to advise on the chain-side integration.
Hello #LUNCCommunity 👋
We've published the technical implementation proposal for the Terra Classic USTC Staking System.
This proposal outlines the architecture, staking mechanics, reward distribution model, validator integration, governance considerations, and implementation approach required to introduce native USTC staking on Terra Classic.
We invite validators, developers, and community members to review the proposal and provide feedback.

Hello #LUNCcommunity 👋
Huge thanks to all validators and community members for supporting the successful Terra Classic upgrade to Cosmos SDK v0.53 with IBC v2 (Eureka).
Following that milestone, we’ve submitted the Phase 2 spending proposal to continue the work.

This upgrade brings Cosmos SDK v0.53.6 (ABCI 2.0 / CometBFT), CometBFT v0.38.21, wasmd v0.61.8, and wasmvm v3.0.3, plus key ecosystem compatibility notes for SDK v0.53 (tx logs/events + LCD endpoint changes).
Testing has been performed extensively on testnet with multiple release candidate and in mainnet-fork/state upgrade runs.
Integrators (RPC/LCD/indexers) should review the required changes ahead of the halt height.

Hello #LuncCommunity #LuncDevelopers
Terra Classic Core v4.0.0 has been running on testnet for ~2 months, with multiple release candidates tested together with testnet validators and dApp providers. The network has been operating stably.
As we begin preparing for the mainnet upgrade (expected in ~4 weeks, around Apr 5, aligned with CEX pre-notification timelines), we invite projects to verify their deployments on testnet and share any feedback or issues within the next few days so they can still be considered as we finalize preparations for mainnet deployment.
In the meantime, we will prepare the necessary documentation and coordination steps to help ensure a smooth mainnet upgrade.
Hello #lunccommunity
Lunar New Year break 🧧
We’ll be offline for Lunar New Year from Feb 13th – Feb 23rd.
We won’t be available during this period unless it’s an important / urgent matter.
Normal operations resume after the break.
Wishing everyone a happy Lunar New Year 🎉
Thank you, #LUNC Community 🚀
The Phase 1 Terra Classic SDK v0.53 community spend proposal has been approved with nearly 100% agreement. We’re grateful for the trust and support from validators and the community.
We’ll continue focused work on testing, maintenance, and coordination to ensure a smooth and successful mainnet upgrade.
Onward for Terra Classic 🔥
Hello #LUNC Community 🚀

[Dev update] SDK v0.53 introduces a breaking change: the Cosmos SDK no longer constructs legacy logs for tx queries or broadcast responses. The canonical output is now events.
To reduce ecosystem impact, Terra Classic has added a compatibility layer (at the app level and does not introduce any forks) on tx queries to reconstruct legacy logs from events.
Broadcast behavior remains unchanged, aligned with upstream update
Recommend follow: broadcast → wait → query tx → read events (or reconstructed logs).
