Earth's rotational stability failed verification so we changed the spec
We have had our last leap second!
The General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM) voted to officially eliminate leap seconds, establishing continuous Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) effective May 20, 2027.

AI didn't just write code this time.
It designed a rocket. A team of us launched it.
The people behind it believe in agentic engineering, and they're coming together: engineers, founders, entire companies.
We're building engineering intelligence.
Join us and meet them before the world does.
DM me if you've trained frontier models, or if you've built real hardware in, automotive, aerospace, robotics, defense, and energy industries.

Today, Pioneer Labs is announcing our first step towards terraforming Mars. 🚀🌼
With equipment that fits in just a single rocket launch, we can convert Martian dirt, water, and air into enough building materials to construct a small city on Mars.
To do it, we made the first microbe for Mars. We found the best microbe on Earth and used evolution to teach it how to source all of its nutrients directly from Martian materials.
The first astronauts will be greeted with safe shelter already filled with water, oxygen, and rocket fuel for the return journey.
This is the first step toward using biology to make Mars a friendly place for life. It lets us live off the land and helps us build the next great frontier.
It's the first of five organisms we need to green Mars ⬇️
Every foreword/introduction into a novel engineer topic starts with a history lesson. Which is fantastic.
Rustification grows.
Introducing CUDA Rust!
CUDA Rust lets you write GPU kernels natively in Rust, not just launch them from it.
Two paths: cuda-oxide for SIMT kernels compiled to PTX, and cutile-rs for Tile-based programming on stable Rust. Both can catch aliasing errors at compile time.

My best friend; many of you know as Zach/ThrustWR, released the best introductory video to Ballistic Missile Defense that I've ever come across.
I can attest to the devotion and effort put into making what become such a well researched project.

Today, Stoke announced a $1 billion Series E, bringing our total capital raised to $2.3 billion.
This funding will help us bring Nova Pathfinder to flight, accelerate development of our larger 15-ton-class Nova Block 2 vehicle, and build the production capacity required to fly at scale.
This milestone reflects years of extraordinary work by the Stoke team and the conviction of customers and investors who share our belief that fully reusable space transportation is both possible and necessary.
We are deeply grateful for their trust, and more energized than ever by the work ahead.

We’re in orbit! And just made European history: This is the first time a privately developed rocket reached orbit from continental Europe; and a testament to the dedication, expertise, and teamwork of everyone involved.
