Of course they are not going to respect the existing lore and such. That's why you bring in failures who check the right boxes and have the correct religiosity in terms of politics to take over. What was done in the past is evil.
I loved Wandavision.
I think Stargate is well overdue for a female showrunner.
This has great potential.
But I don't trust Amazon's current execs to respect the existing work and lore.
I hope they don't shaft Jac like they did Martin.

What does This Mean...
According to Variety, Jac Shaeffer, who is responsible for WANDA VISION, AGATHA ALL ALONG as well as a co-writer on BLACK WIDOW as well as CAPTAIN MARVEL, has been given the reigns to create a new STARGATE TV show after rebuffing Martin Gero, Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi... you know, the guys who CREATED ORIGINAL STARGATE.
So this hire tells you everything you want to know...
- Original Stargate Canon... GONE
- New series female and LGBTQ focused... LIKELY
- Stories that long-time fans will likely hate... MOST CERTAINLY
I'M HAPPY TO BE PROVEN WRONG, and like all shows it will be judged fairly when it comes out, but this showrunner choice has all the makings of a disaster out of the gate. Old IPs with tons of fans will require that you honor what came before. See Star Trek and Star Wars for an example.
Why do you fire OG Stargate Creators to hire a new person who knows nothing about Stargate? Because you don't want your show to be associated with the old show.
What you can expect is the 47 year old Shaeffer to lean on a female centered cast and story which is the basis of every single story she has written or show she has produced.
Schaeffer was hired by Amazon in February of this year only a few months prior to canceling Martin Gero's Stargate. Perhaps Amazon's silence was that this was their plan all along, but they knew the blow back they would receive and delayed as long as possible?
Studios are obsessed with award winning showrunners and Schaeffer has been award several for her work on Agatha All Along and Wanda Vision to include Outstanding New TV Series by GLAAD Media, Best LGBTQ TV Show and the Saturn Award for best Superhero television show for both Agatha and Wanda.
Perhaps STARGATE will be made for someone, but it 100% won't be for long-time fans who've waited years for it to come back.

I wonder if the #SaveStargate crowd will accept what will inevitably be a dung pile 'cause "STARGATE!" Amazon killed the good Stargate when they "canceled" the project to continue that continuity. They nailed thie coffin shut with this announcement.

Darrah says the game was constantly delayed, but never given enough breathing room:
“The team always was quite close to its current release date.”
Because of that, the devs never had enough time to properly step back, rethink the game and make major changes.
“There was never a time when the project was way in the future.”

ISAIAS JUST SET A NEW ATLANTIC HURRICANE RECORD...
Hurricane Isaias has officially become the latest first hurricane on record, having reached hurricane strength at 11:30 PM EDT on October 7.
That breaks the previous record set by an unnamed 1905 hurricane, which became a hurricane at 8:00 PM EDT on October 7.
Only 1907 and 1914 failed to produce a hurricane at all, making 2026's record apply to seasons that produced at least one hurricane.
I don't know what this series is. However, this does illustrate why I despise "localizers" so much. These people fancy themselves amazing writers, thus they need to rewrite what was actually said (by the idiot Japanese writers) into whatever they want.
