Please urgently take notice of the reported enforced disappearance of Pakistani activist @shafqatmm1.
Shafqat Masood is a patriotic Pakistani activist who has consistently raised his voice for better governance, rule of law, public safety and against policies and actions that he believes are harmful to the people of Pakistan.
According to his family, he was taken from his home at around 1:00 AM. His family has confirmed that he was taken away, and they are now desperately seeking information about his whereabouts and safety.
This is deeply alarming.
If there are any allegations against him, he must be informed of them and produced before a competent court in accordance with the law. No citizen should simply disappear after being taken from his home in the middle of the night.
We urgently appeal to @HRCP87, @amnestysasia and @hrw to:
• Take immediate notice of his disappearance
• Demand information about his whereabouts
• Call for proof of life and his safety
• Urge Pakistani authorities to disclose the legal basis for his detention
• Demand that he be produced before a court without delay, or released if there is no lawful basis for his detention
The international human rights community must not remain silent when a peaceful activist disappears for speaking about Pakistan's governance and human rights.
Please help amplify this appeal and demand the safe recovery and immediate release of @shafqatmm1

پروفیسر شفقت چودھری کو ان کے حالیہ ٹویٹس کے بعد رات گھر سے اٹھا کر لے گئے۔
میں نے ٹویٹس پڑھے ہیں۔۔۔ ان میں سلجھے ہوئے مدلل انداز کے ساتھ رجیم کی کارستانیاں ڈسکس کی گئی ہیں۔ بتایا گیا ہے کہ عمران خان کو کیوں کچھ دیر کے لئے ہسپتال لائے تھے، اس ناٹک کے پردے میں کیا واردات ڈالی گئی ہے۔ اس پر رات کے ایک بجے ایک پرامن شہری اور استاد کے اغواء کا کیا مطلب ہے؟ کیا پاکستان میں قانون کی عملداری بلکل ہی ختم ہوگئی ہے؟
