Speaker @MPPArnottWHH is one of the most upstanding members I’ve ever come across. The job is hard work, and speakers never get the credit they deserve. #onpoli #speaker

Agree with this take. Small-scale investors in election battleground regions like Peel and Vancouver will not forget this. #cdnpoli #ONpoli
I know this is an unpopular take but increasing the capital gains inclusion rate from 50% to 66% will hurt investment in housing at a time when we need it the most. Individual ‘mom & pop’ investors fuel pre-sales that help finance new condo projects. Additionally, with 3-4 units being legalized on all lots, we need individual ‘mom & pop’ investors to get those projects going! Full tax measures: budget.canada.ca/2024/report…

Significant changes just announced by Minister @PaulCalandra as part of the new “Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act”. 🚨#ParkingMinimums will be eliminated in PMTSAs & MTSAs. This means: ✅ More housing ✅ Lower property taxes ✅ Better environmental outcomes ✅ Increased transit use Backgrounder: news.ontario.ca/en/backgroun…

Let’s goooo! 💪🏾 #onpoli
📢 Final numbers are in for Ontario’s 2023 housing starts. ✅ Very excited to see that nearly 10% of all starts were “additional residential units”. This means that policy changes such as Bill 23 measure to allow 3 units and Minister @SeanFraserMP’s push to legalize 4 units are already yielding results! And, we are just getting started! 🏗️ 🏠x4 ontario.ca/page/tracking-hou…

🚨 Enough is enough. Misinformation groups in #Mississauga are pressuring the city to break its own standards and procedures in order to delay badly needed #housing development. Today, they went too far.

Quite shameful that Mississauga councillors don’t have the courage to make room for more neighbours IN PRINCIPLE. #onpoli
Replying to @SeanFraserMP
Mississauga council actually voted unanimously to ask staff to bring a report back on 4 plexes and holding public consultations.

It’s not just egregious, it’s down right disgusting. Wanting changes to your lease is not grounds for a $7K MONTHLY increase in rent. Purpose-built apartments should always be the preferred choice to rent. #onpoli #rent toronto.ctvnews.ca/this-is-e…

For the future of folks my age, it wouldn’t be the worst outcome re housing! #onpoli #TOpoli
Olivia Chow talking about #MissingMiddle on @CP24 today: “I want to unleash the power of the homeowner. Say to them go build it because we need housing in this city” “Build up to 4 storeys. If you want to have 4 units, you can rent out 3 of them.” Ford-Chow Housing Alliance?✅

Watching this segment wanted to make me tear my eyes out. I am more and more convinced that most mayors and councillors: 1. Have not actually read #Bill23. 2. Are either deliberately spreading misinformation or do not understand housing economics. Let's bust some myths. 🧵
To spur housing development, the Ontario government's Bill 23 housing bill reduces development charges to incentivize building starts. But tonight mayors @_JohnTaylor and @DorothyMcCabe tell @spaikin why they don't think that will work. At 8/11pm | Producer: @carastern #onpoli

Our More Homes Built Faster plan will cut red tape, fight NIMBYism & put homeownership in reach of more Ontarians. I am proud to work alongside @MichaelParsa & @KHollandMPP to get shovels in the ground so all Ontarians have a place they can call home. 🏡👷‍♂️

Bill 23 will help get projects off the shelf, shovels in the ground, and keys in the hands of more Ontarians. #onpoli
