🚨Great news for Augusta Township! Our government is protecting tariff-impacted workers and industries with an investment of $750,000 through the $40-million Trade-Impacted Communities Program (TICP) to support the township’s Maitland Chemical Industrial Park feasibility study. The study will provide a pathway to support existing industries on the site and attract new industrial investment while reducing reliance on U.S. supply chains. With its prime location, infrastructure, and skilled local workers, the Maitland Chemical Industrial Park is well positioned to attract new investment to grow our economy in Leeds and Grenville. Proud that we're supporting Augusta Township to capitalize on opportunities to create new, good-paying manufacturing jobs on the site. Learn more: steveclarkmpp.com/ontario-in…

Auto theft is down across Ontario but we're not letting up in supporting police going after the organized criminals responsible. Pleased to announce that our government is providing $187,500 to Grenville County OPP through the Preventing Auto Thefts Grant Program. This investment will give Grenville County OPP additional tools and resources to work with their community partners to combat auto theft, disrupt criminal activity and keep our communities safe. We’re not just investing in training. We’re getting people on the job. As part of our government’s $2.5 billion commitment to skills training, we’ve already supported 1,000 projects that will help more than 700,000 workers train for in-demand careers. That’s how we protect workers, strengthen our economy and build a more competitive Ontario.

Ontario is a global energy superpower. And we’re just getting started. We can no longer rely on the U.S. for our prosperity or our security. That’s why we’re securing Canada’s energy sovereignty by building new nuclear, the largest battery storage fleet in the country and the transmission to connect it all. Reliable power. Stronger communities. More jobs for Ontario workers.

Ontario is the first and only province to remove ALL of its exceptions under the Canadian Free Trade Agreement! As the U.S. targets Canadian goods, we're opening new markets here at home, helping Ontario producers reach customers across Canada while lowering costs and building a stronger, more self-reliant economy. 🇨🇦

Our government is investing $5 million in 119 projects to protect Ontario’s lands and waterways from phragmites, one of the most damaging invasive plants in the province. The investment will also support nearly 200 good-paying jobs. The funding includes $73,565 for Cataraqui Conservation's Phragmites Management Area Roadside and Wetlands Control Project in our region. Under the leadership of Minister of Natural Resources Mike Harris, this is the latest step in our plan to stop the spread of invasive species by working alongside partners like the Invasive Species Centre & Nature Conservancy of Canada. We owe it to our brave police officers to ensure they have the tools they need to do their jobs safely. We’re urging the federal government to take the actions below to protect our officers and communities they serve.
Police officers put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. The least we can do in response is have their backs, no matter what. Today, I wrote to the Prime Minister outlining a series of practical steps to support and protect our brave women and men in uniform.

On September 30th, across Ontario and Canada, we mark the sixth National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. I encourage everyone in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes to take a moment today to learn and reflect. Today we honour Survivors of Indian Residential Schools, their families and communities, and remember the children who never came home. As we consider the history and lasting impacts of the Indian Residential School system and honour Indigenous voices, we must also reaffirm our commitment to reconciliation by working together in true partnership.

We’re connecting 600,000 more Ontarians to care, the next step in our $3.4 billion Primary Care Action Plan to connect everyone to primary care by 2029. Our government will always protect Ontario's workers and businesses. We're expanding the Protect Ontario Financing Program to support sectors hit by the latest U.S. import ban, while continuing to back businesses still facing previous tariffs, including the steel and aluminum sectors, so workers can stay on the job. As President Trump takes aim at our economy, we're protecting Canada's energy sovereignty. The proposed Northern Shield Energy Corridor would connect Alberta energy to Ontario through a new 3,300 km pipeline, built with Canadian steel by Canadian workers. More Canadian energy. More Canadian jobs. A stronger, more sovereign Canada.
