The most important tobacco lobbyist may be the one you never hear about.
@AshOrg found 1,199 tobacco lobbyist and firm registrations across all 50 states + D.C. so far in 2026.
But disclosure rules vary from state to state, making the industry's influence hard to see as a whole. So ASH mapped it, and now you can explore it too.
It's a point STOP highlights the blog "How Lack of Transparency Serves Tobacco Lobbyists" if lobbying can't be seen, it can't be reported. Most countries don't have lobbying transparency laws, so what happens behind closed doors stays secret.

🔍Dans le cadre du 𝟏𝟎𝟎𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐮 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞́ 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐥'𝐞𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭 (#CRC100), la manière dont l’#Espagne et la #Colombie protègent les #droitsdelenfant a été évaluée, notamment face aux risques liés à l’industrie du tabac.
De nombreuses organisations, dont le CNCT, appellent le CRC à demander à l'Espagne et à la Colombie de renforcer leurs politiques de lutte antitabac, et de mettre en œuvre pleinement les bonnes pratiques de la Convention-cadre de l’OMS pour la lutte antitabac (CCLAT), afin de protéger les enfants contre des produits dont l’usage est nocif pour la santé et porte atteinte aux #droitshumains.
