I know you guys have comprehension issues; "As IF" as meaning!
If that were severed, death would be in seconds, so both ways this doesn't work!
Please stop being stupid
If you were Shia, you know the believe in the 12 Imams. Name the 12th Imam and explain the concept of Ghaybat to me, and tell me why you stopped believing in it.

Do you guys want debates or an Islam trial?
If your real goal is a trial, then state that from the go!
@camhigby’s issue was that he wanted @muslimorthodoxy on defense the entire time. That’s exactly why he framed the theme that way: “Does Islam condone child marriage?”
Not “Is child marriage wrong?” just Islam on trial, One-way critique.
Libyano did respond to all his claims. But Cam narrowed the topic so much that he himself couldn’t have added new substance; then when Libyano tried to hold Cam to the same standard, Cam said it was “out of scope.” WHAT?!
Let me break down why Cam lost the substance and why his framing was dishonest.
1. The topic was a prosecution, not a debate.
Cam chose a motion that only puts Islam on trial. He thought he would never have to defend his own worldview. When Libyano asked, “What about Christianity, Catholicism, Aquinas, other laws (Delaware law)?” Cam said, “I’m not Catholic, I don’t study it, it’s outside the topic.”
That’s not debate. That’s a one-way attack platform.
2. Libyano answered every point Cam made.
Quran 65:4: Libyano correctly noted that “not menstruated” ≠ “prepubescent.” A girl can be pubescent before menarche. Cam later conceded this. That alone destroyed his 65:4 argument.
Aisha at 6/9: Libyano accepted the ages but argued the operative standard was physical capability, not age. Marriage contract ≠ consummation. Consummation requires physical readiness.
Bukhari’s chapter: Libyano translated the Arabic and showed “young children” can mean young marriageable girls, not necessarily pre-pubescent.
Four schools: Libyano cited Malik, Shafi’i, and consensus that a girl incapable of intercourse is not handed over. Cam’s own Shafi’i quote actually confirmed the physical readiness standard.
3. Cam’s hadith backfired.
Cam quoted the hadith about Aisha being fattened up with cucumbers and dates; it backfired.
That hadith shows her family was waiting for physical readiness, not counting birthdays. They prepared her body before sending her. That supports Libyano’s framework, not Cam’s.
4. The “child” definition is anachronistic.
Cam’s entire case relies on calling Aisha a “child” at 6 and 9. But the modern concept of a “child” as anyone under 18 is a recent invention. The “teenager” is a 20th-century construct.
In Jewish tradition, adulthood is 12 for girls. In classical Islamic law, it’s puberty (bulugh). In Delaware, the age of consent was 7 in the late 19th century. Early marriage was a worldwide practice, so part of natural law.
So Cam was judging a 7th-century practice by 21st-century definitions. That’s presentism.
5. The consistency dodge.
Libyano’s strongest move was the consistency argument: “If Christianity, Catholicism, Aquinas, and the church historically allowed the same thing, why single out Islam? If you accept it in your worldview, why is it an issue for Islam?”
That’s a tu quoque, yes; but in a moral debate, consistency matters.
Cam refused to engage. He said it was outside the topic.
But it’s not outside the topic. It’s the whole point. If Cam can’t condemn his own tradition for the same standard, he can’t condemn Islam. By refusing to answer, he conceded the consistency point by default.
Bottom line:
Cam didn’t want a debate. He wanted an Islam trial. He framed the topic to keep Libyano on defense, then dodged every attempt to apply the same standard to his own worldview.
Libyano answered his points, exposed the anachronism, and landed the consistency hit.
If you want a trial, say so from the start. Don’t pretend it’s a debate.
@camhigby, next time, bring a symmetric motion or admit you’re just here to attack.
@muslimorthodoxy great job as always

Baptism in the New Testament isn’t described as conversion. It’s described as a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins (Mark 1:4; Luke 3:3), and people are told to be baptized for the forgiveness of sins and to wash away their sins (Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16). That practice goes back to John and Jesus’ disciples, so it wasn’t invented for conversion.

So let me get it right, a stupid MONKEY who didn't play the game is angry at the opinion of someone who did play???
Wrong!
Columbus never discovered America in a meaningful way !
He wrote they where mosques there when he went!
He went with an Arabic translater, maps to the America existed before he left!
Btw he was suspected to be a Jew hiding!
And the travel was suspected to be motivated by the fact the crown was expelling Jews and finally it was financed by people that where also suspected of being Jew
