A brow hikes skyward. “You don’t say. Listen, buddy, I believe you and all. Just don’t go running off again.”

“It’s good to have ya back, pal. Don’t go running off again or I’ll have no choice but to strap you down.”

“Eh, I’m a softie when it comes to the kids. Stay outta trouble, sport. Just because you’re the big guy’s kid doesn’t mean you can’t get hurt.” He ruffles the kid’s hair. He’d hate to see any of the little ones get hurt. Even Batman’s youngest brat.

“I had to take a minute to remember that you’re Superman’s kid. I was just about to scold you for being an idiot, but I think you saved yourself from that, today.”

He gives a relatively big stretch. It’s raining today and he begins to wonder: is it worth being productive? The answer is no. It’s always no.
