I know I’m not easy for everyone to understand.
I didn’t grow up in comfort.
I grew up in an abusive home where survival was the first lesson.
Later, I chose a path very few women I know ever walked —
I became a United States Marine and a military policeman. Another reason why I am fiercely defensive about my country, and some of you will never understand that.
That kind of life changes you.
It gives you a different lens on the world… and sometimes people don’t know what to do with that.
But my heart never hardened.
I help people who truly want help.
I have endless patience for someone trying to learn.
It’s also why I believe in rescue dogs.
I know what it feels like to be abandoned and still keep going.
So if I seem different… it’s because I am.
Some people were raised in comfort.
Some of us were forged in fire.
I know I’m not like most people. I would rather be misunderstood for who I am
than loved for pretending to be someone I’m not.

My patient submitted a claim to her insurance company, and the company responded by offering to reimburse me $6.05. This was for seeing her as a new patient and performing allergy testing.
Of all the beneficiaries of our messed up health system, it’s not the patients nor the doctors!

American Doctor Caleb Masterson reveals that 50% of patients that have been approved for a prior authorization before surgery, then have their coverage denied after the surgery is completed
He says UnitedHealthcare is the insurance carrier doing this scam
“Half of all united Surgeries that are prior auth approved get subsequently denied”
Americans health insurance companies are running a racket
He says they make them jump through more pointless hoops just to get the same approval they already had. The are dragging out the process hoping people give up

Insurance is entirely under-regulated with very little oversight given and only to the government who is too big and refuses to act on every issue for the individual. We need private causes of action, and alternative means to force insurance companies to comply.

A few weeks after my wife passed, our oldest grandson (he's only 7) texted this to my wife's phone. It was the most heartbreaking thing to experience because his young mind can't understand why his Nana left him. 💔

Independent practices are not disappearing by accident. Payment disparities and regulatory barriers create conditions that make hospital acquisition the more viable path. The long-term effects show up in ownership patterns and pricing.

This is where @DrPatrick from @ImmunityBio says a $15 blood test to check your ALC number would have indicated your wife was having serious issues. Why is this number not in every blood test now? I have started telling all my family and friends, know your ALC number! I am truly sorry for your loss😭

Fucking @Cigna denied my mom’s stroke policy after she HAD A STROKE.

Cigna just sent my dead wife, who succumbed to cancer last August, a DENIAL letter for a test to help diagnose her tumor markers. WTF is even going on with medical insurance companies? She left this world 6 months ago BECAUSE she couldn't get proper treatment. We don't hate these people enough.
